Judge Holds Secret Hearing After Flynn Lobs Wild-Eyed Claims Against Gov’t

A federal judge on Thursday held a secret hearing in former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s case, where only Flynn’s side — and not the prosecutors — was present, according to a minute order later placed on the case’s docket.

The firm of Infowars, Klein & McNally are coming aboard as co-counsel.

Stop stalling and putting off the inevitable. Flynn should never see the light of day as a free man. Sentence him already and get this off the table.

So it looks like the strategy is to stall the sentencing past Nov 3, 2020, when the pardon window opens. I wanna hear Emmet Sullivan say “treason” again.

As I keep saying – a Federal courtroom is not Twitter. If you are going to make claims like this in Federal court, you’d better have damn good evidence to back it up because a Federal judge is not a host on Fox and Friends.

So. He fires his lawyers. He hires new ones that can’t get security clearance. He uses this to argue that the opposing counsel is violating discovery.

This is like hiring the prosecutor’s brother as your lawyer mid trial, and then asking the court to appoint a new prosecutor because of the conflict.

Two things:

First, this woman is a broken record. Her fame and fortune are entirely hinged on her identical accusations about the prosecution of Enron and others and her crusade against the DOJ prosecutors for exactly these kinds of accusations. This…

““affirmatively suppressed evidence … that destroyed the credibility of their primary witness, impugned their entire case against Mr. Flynn, while at the same time putting excruciating pressure on him to enter his guilty plea and manipulating or controlling the press to their advantage to extort that plea.””

…sounds like broken record bullshit coming from her.

Second, Barr is having her fed cherry-picked information to help Flynn. I fucking guarantee it.

Bad call for Flynn

That’s exactly what he’s trying to do. He’s trying to stall and not do any time and is banking on a pardon.

Can he repeat this step (firing his lawyers) on the basis that he needs lawyers with security clearances? 14 months is a lot of road to kick the can down.

How many ways can one say, “Pompous Ass”?

reading between the lines…

The judge called Flynn’s lawyers into a secret “hearing” because he wanted to criticize their conduct so severely it would not have been appropriate to do so in open court. I think that basically, the judge told Flynn’s lawyers that they will be held in contempt if they continued to make claims of misconduct against the government lawyers without sufficient proof.

The key here is that Flynn still doesn’t want to change his plea, and claim that he was coerced. Doing so would have extremely dire consequences for Flynn – he’d be liable for every crime he confessed to, plus perjury for falsely swearing that he had not been coerced, PLUS contempt of court for telling the judge that he hadn’t been coerced.

The judge is ready to pass sentence – there is a hearing on Sept 10 to set a sentencing date – and he’s tired of all this crap.

Forget setting a sentencing date. Just sentence the guy. Get him outta here. Flynn’s like the drunk in the bar that no one will eject.

Ding ding ding! Plus it looks like Sullivan is going to deny the dumb motion to compel first so he can then deny the request for security clearances as moot.

Well within their rights, as privately held and not public-sector businesses.

About time Kroger did that - every other grocery store in Dallas has signs - No guns in store. Except Kroger and thank god they finally got sane, too.

Judge should’ve just sentenced him when he had the chance. None of this “are you suuure you want to accept your sentence…?” crap. Guy should be doing hard time right now.

Yeah this has been going on for quite awhile.
