My sister in Austin signed up to be a census worker, she initially signed up to work 10-15 hours a week. She got so engaged in what she was doing she upped her time to 25-30 hours a week. And because she’s an engineer she had a few suggestions, and they acted on how to make the process easier, quicker, and faster in regards to apartment buildings, and complexes.
So my moral of the this story if you want to fuck something up don’t hire an engineer. If your boss (Trump) wants a half assed job don’t hire an engineer.

Census Bureau Director Steve Dillingham and Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, plus their subordinates, . . . Census Bureau Associate Director Al Fontenot and his team

Who is going to get bus-ted when the brilliant Replan unfolds?

It’s almost like some judges just don’t believe the administration any more.

The administration has three problems with this:

  1. Wilbur is asleep most of the time.
  2. It takes a while to create and back-date the required fake documents.
  3. They need time to invent “reasons” for the decision.

Or they’ve got their number, and don’t have any more fucks to give.

So, either Wilbur Ross is lying about the difficulties of presenting their rationale, or they simply had no rationale at all, which is why they will need weeks to scrounge for documents.

I think we all know which it is. Racists never like to disclose evidence of their racism. That’s why they always wear hoods or plot things in back rooms or in the dark.

Moving with alacrity. Good.

“…a huge break with census precedent that usually aims to count everyone in the country, here legally or not.”

Massive and misleading understatement there.

It is not just precedent. It is explicitly in the U.S. Constitution that “Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State.”

“whole number of persons”, not just “citizens.”

Lawyer: We are the Federales. You know, the Commerce Department.
Judge: If you’re the Commerce Department, where are your records about the census?
Lawyer: Records? We ain’t got no records. We don’t need no records. I don’t have to show you any stinking records!
Judge: You produce the records and you do it quick! [rifle shot]

Besides the Census what else does the Commerce Dept got going on during a global pandemic? It’s not like we can have full employment if by going to work is hazardous to one’s life. And NOAA doesn’t need the sleeping Wilbur’s help with hurricanes.

The Trump Admin lives to accrue contempt citations. They eat them for lunch and spit out the bones. They couldn’t give a shit about this judge’s ruling.

Takes time to figure out how to explain blatantly racist things without sounding like a racist.

I find it beyond belief that both the USPS and Census Bureau can implement comprehensive changes without a detailed, documented record for defining the operational goals of the organization and methodology for achieving and evaluating those goals.

It stretches credulity to the point of revealing that these people are lying about their intentions to actually destroy the institutions for which they have a fiduciary responsibility to protect.

“We can’t possibly manufacture a false administrative record with so little time!!!”

They’ll now be caught withholding shit and will respond by claiming privilege and confidentiality/classified status, maybe even national security haha
