A California federal judge issued a ruling on Monday that blocks the Trump administration’s new asylum rule from being enforced across the U.S. while the new restrictions are challenged in the courts, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Yay. Immigration into this country is a national policy and process, ergo it should have national implications that is consistent across states. The decision to limit it to two states and leave out two other states never made sense to me. Watch tRump insist this going to SCOTUS. In the meantime, score another for the good guys fighting against tRump’s bogus made-up emergency powers to prevent legal asylum-seekers from waiting it out here and having their day in court to make their case.
What tRump and his asshole lackey and personal attorney at DoJ AG Barr need to do is hire more immigration judges, rather than decrease their numbers as Barr has done, so these immigrants can be processed. Its a simple solution that they are purposely interfering with and trying to deny to those asylum-seekers. By intentionally trying to clog up the system as a way to deny them them permanent entrance here, they are essentially putting these people’s lives in jeopardy…but then that’s the point, isn’t it? Intentional cruelty is the policy, not some outgrowth of an arcane process.
Looks like this Judge declined to take Barr’s advice against Nationwide injunctions. When you keep getting penalized for fouling your opponent, working the refs is your only option.
How is it that the laziest, most slothful President in history is probably responsible for the greatest number of “emergencies” delivered to the doorstep of SCOTUS? It probably means because Trump refuses to do any of the work on the front end, he has to depend on SCOTUS’s right wing bias to bail him out on the back end.
