Johnson Ignores Looming Funding Deadlines In Downplaying Dems’ New York Win

“Think about what happened there. … They spent about $15 million to win a seat that President Biden won by eight points.”

Mike is, like many Republicans, stuck in his zero sum thinking ways.

I’m not sure how something that’s just a tiny little prick can be so powerful.

This was one of my biggest problems with religion. God gets the credit but never the blame.

They will recess tomorrow until February 28. Good luck with those deadlines.

Congress voted to extend the January and February deadlines to March 1 and March 8

Due to provisions written into the Joe Biden-Kevin McCarthy debt ceiling deal, the entire budget will be slashed to 2023 levels minus one percent if Congress has failed to pass an appropriations package by April 30, or has a continuing resolution in place for any part of the government instead. This across-the-board cut, known as sequestration, includes the Defense Department, which Republicans have historically been adamant about funding generously.

Oh FFS! It’s still 2011.

Right?

2 days to keep the government open once back from their holiday. I hope Jeffries just drops an omnibus that extends funding through the end of the year on Johnson and says ‘take it or leave it.’

They will still wait the six days, and then decide which day they are going to take a look at it in a month or so, and because it’s so complicated they will mull on it for two or three months…is it November already?

To be very clear, this is about Trump (and his allies on the US Supreme Court) attempting to delay Trump’s criminal cases prior to the next Presidential Electoral College elections.

In truth, Smith wanted the Supreme Court to hear this back on December 21st. That’ s a matter of record btw. And SCOTUS denied Smith’s petition for this to be expedited. Now SCOTUS is hearing the argument almost two months later and demanding that Smith file within one week? Seems like this whole process is bass-ackwards. And not a little. Of course Smith was immediately able to give them a response to Trump’s filing. Heck, he was ready to do so on Dec 21, almost two months ago!
