Johnson Gets One-Week Suspension From YouTube After Boosting COVID Misinfo In Video | Talking Points Memo

YouTube has suspended Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) from uploading videos for one week after a clip shared from his account showed the Wisconsin Republican touting hydroxychloroquine and another drug as treatments for COVID-19.

Have to wonder if he did this deliberately. Infection rate down, doctors getting much better at treating severe disease and death rate is way down. So why? To get your name on the news and burnish your MAGA cred.

RoJo must be a bundle of grief after this.

Stupid idiot does something stupid, details at the top of the hour.

But really, hydroxychloroquine again? That’s a stretch even for Russkie Ron.

He promotes Republicans and Trumps. I fail to see the difference with leeches.

One of them blah blah slimy blah, the others are leeches.

It looks to me as releasing the stupid a little bit at a time will keep him from exploding. Maybe it’s just leaking from the seams.

Plus, he gets to scream about being canceled.

Given some of the proposals from authorities Johnson lionizes and respects (like intravenous bleach and rectally inserted UV lights,) leeches would strike me as a turn towards a relatively innocuous direction.

Sure, that’s part of it. They have three or four drums they’ve banging these days and this is one of them.

I guess it means he’s running again.

I do hope the Dems have a strong candidate to run against him. HIs brain along with several others is broken.

Any sense of shame or social responsibility was clearly washed away long before Johnson first stood for office.

Senator Joe Manchin’s family profits off hydroxychloroquine.

I suspect Johnson has been instructed by the Koch Empire to tease Manchin with the prospect of more massive profiteering under GOP misrule. Whether or not the credulous buy more hydroxy today, this sends a signal to Manchin about the rewards for distinguished service in furtherance of oligarchy.

Maybe I missed it, but there’s got to be some connection between a manufacturer/distributor of Hydroxychloroquine and members of the GOP. It makes no sense that they keep touting the drug when it isn’t even what saved Trump.

Big Tech and mainstream media believe they are smarter than “medical doctors” (quote marks are mine) who have devoted their lives to science and use their skills to save lives,” Johnson said. “They have decided there is only one medical viewpoint allowed and it is the viewpoint dictated by government agencies. How many lives will be lost as a result? How many lives could have been saved with a free exchange of medical ideas? Government-sanctioned censorship of ideas and speech should concern us all.”

It makes it less available and more expensive for legitimate users. Prices go up in an instant and then tend to stay there.
