Johnson Draws Fire For Coronavirus Remarks: It’s ‘Not A Death Sentence’ | Talking Points Memo

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) got himself into hot water following a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Wednesday night that captured his attitude toward the coronavirus outbreak. Johnson told the newspaper that although he’s not denying that COVID-19 is a “nasty disease”and how it’s “obviously devastating” to between 1 and 3.4 percent of the population, the Wisconsin Republican estimated that 97 to 99 percent “will get through this” and develop immunities.

Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) is proof that: “You can’t cure stupid.”

Let’s infect him as a scientific experiment of that claim…after waterboarding him to find out which conspiracy theory website he’s running on the side along with selling “religious” cures for the virus.

3.4% of the U.S. population is 11.2 million, Senator.

If they could warranty that the 3.4 it’s going to be among Trump voters, I would be OK with that too.

Also you don’t develop an immunity for it.

Ron Johnson is year in, and year out, perhaps the most stupid senator. Guy must have an IQ of about 90, functional IQ of about 80. My guess is that Inhofe is smarter than him, which would make him the dumbest senator.

Not sure if he is Louis Gomert dumb, but close…

He’s struck on the republican 2020 election slogan.

“Vote for us: Probably less than 3.5% of you will die. Maybe more, maybe less, who knows?”

Math not his strong suit
Like all good Republicans he’ll become concerned when it happens to someone in his family
Until then

It’s not like he took an oath or anything to protect the “people” in this country

There is a test for it, though. And it’s very reliable.

The 35,000 highway deaths are not an act of God. Mostly caused by bad behavior.
We don’t shrug our shoulders and say oh well. That’s why we have laws against drunk driving, speeding, aggressive driving etc. Also licensing drivers, inspecting vehicles (in most states) and driver training are attempts to reduce that toll.
