Johnson Already Doing Trump's Veto Work For Him On Senate's Bipartisan Tariff Bill

Originally published at: Johnson Already Doing Trump’s Veto Work For Him On Senate’s Bipartisan Tariff Bill - TPM – Talking Points Memo

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) came out against even entertaining the idea of bringing to the House floor a Senate bill that would limit the President’s authority to unilaterally impose tariffs. The bipartisan legislation was introduced by Sens. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA); seven Republican senators have already signed onto the effort to…

There’s too much heinous, lying, scummy, buttlikkin, insane BS going on in all the posts to know where to start commenting…
Anger, and can’t come up with a way to direct it constructively yet…

So Mike Johnson, who doesn’t have a bank account if I recall correctly, is totally fine with all of this and no worries whatsoever that he might be voted out. The guy seems shady as hell with his little angelic smirk all the time. What has Trump promised him?

it would be a shame if no big beautiful bills passed until that tariff bill passed with veto proof majorities. Not that this would happen.

Little mikey and the short fingered vulgarian will received their just desserts. They are so full of themselves now, but justice will prevail.

Mike Johnson, King of the Lickspittles? Or does the Chief Justice get that title? So many are vying for it. …Yet I think Donny’s too old and too greedy to ever reward them much…And if there are history books post-Trump, they’re going to look like cowards and idiots. Yet they persist. …Johnson must figure MAGA voters – and funders? – will reward him. But I don’t see what’s in it for the Supremes…It’s one thing to be the instrument of putting a right-wing government in power. I can see why they might consider that a great accomplishment. But what if the right-wing government is led by a childish ignoramus who even fucks things up for many of the rich? That seems to be a questionable accomplishment by anyone’s standards.

Were you able to march on Saturday? I found doing that doing that, and hitting the earlier Tesla protests, gave me the feeling that I at least did a tiny, little something. It was also good to see others out and pissed off. It vented some of the volcano of rage that bubbles up every day.

That is all.

Johnson is a Dominion Christianist and the promise is of Rapture or Giliead, not necessarily in that order; he may not venerate Trump as a person at all.

He’s the kind of freak who could love you and at the same time light the fire to burn you at the stake.

All this IRA pain, Social Security disruptions, disability income “glitches”, and soon, Medicare collapse is going to impact the maganuts, who are not, I repeat, NOT “financially distressed.” Folks who can equip themselves with arsenals and garb themselves in “tactical” couture are well off, regardless of how “regular folk” the media likes to portray them.

The Messiah is failing his flocks of sheeple, bigtime. There’s no rage like that of a disappointed True Believer. Watch out for “stochastic violence.”

Just sayin’ …

Exactly. Call your Senators and Representatives! Email! Visit, if they have local offices! This is Big Chance Two, Schumer having whiffed Big Chance One. Things like this don’t come every day. Time for Democrats to give some encouragement to their diminishing base!

an effort to get Congress to assert its sole authority over tariff policy

Without that authority, forget ever having a balanced budget, Republicans. Your economic models won’t be worth the COBOL they’re written in.

In tech terms, it’s called “garbage in, garbage out”.

Chief Justice John Roberts placed an administrative stay on US District Judge Paula Xinis’s order requiring the Trump administration to “facilitate and effectuate” the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

After the U.S. admitted he was mistakenly sold to another country as slave labor!

But no, it is “business as usual” for Johnny, whose “rule of law” applies to the haves, but not the have nots.

The chatter now is the members of the chaotic, undisciplined, immoral Trump administration are searching for an “off ramp” so that Donnie can “save face.” Lord knows that DJT is two-faced – actually multi-faced, because he is such an unrepentant liar to everyone – and that the fate of the country and its economy is being held hostage to his tremendous ego. FAFO!!

“COBOL”? This maladministration’s “economic models” are written in crayon. Barely even qualify as “back of the envelope”. The only “computers” involved would have been those phones used to access social media.

Trump’s approval rating has hardly moved. The truth is that MAGAOTs are quite pleased with the chaos they have wrought.

Judging from that photograph, Johnson is on something. That is the look of someone who has entered an altered state where he doesn’t even pretend to engage with the depths of his evil deeds or the consequences of his actions.

He will wake up in the morning with his pants down around his ankles and think nothing of it. At least he’s still getting invited to parties.
