I understand your point, but must respectfully disagree.
The “sacrifice” was God becoming man and living as a man. One way or another, he was going to die, and presumably rise from the dead, as only God can do. The love God demonstrated was allowing his son to die.
Many people don’t believe that historically happened. Some believe the New Testament is simply a spiritual allegory. All fine. My point is that crucifixion was not essential, nor was Judas preordained to betray him. Crucifixion was just the Trumpian way of dealing with nice people at the time.
