Jeff Clark’s Insurrection Act Remark Was Even Worse Than It Sounds

Tucked 81 paragraphs into the election crimes indictment of Donald Trump, there’s a reference to a plot even more sinister that was never fully carried out.

You know, “malice” and “evil” really don’t convey how disgusted and angry I am about this. I honestly did not think I would live to see a day that this kind of shit might/could happen here. And I am not Pollyannish about anything.

I just feel like no one is really letting this sink in, because we’re not taking it very seriously, but I just don’t know what that should look like.

This feels like a 9/11 moment.

I’ll tell you, while reading the indictment and getting to this part, I immediately was like WHO THE HELL IS CO-CONSPIRATOR 4. Maybe I’m just numb to all the stuff Rudy and the other numbskulls did, but I either didn’t know about or didn’t process how fucking vile Clark’s role was. This callous and terrifying comment; threatening to take over the DOJ; directly ignoring orders to not talk to the White House multiple times…holy shit. Who does this little worm think he is? Because that’s what he is: a little worm who had a taste of too much power.

I forgot: can the co-cons be indicted or did they exchange testimony for immunity? Because if the latter I’m like, eh fuck Clark’s immunity.

Anyone who ever thinks the Republican Party can be trusted needs to be reminded of this shit every goddamned day. Not even Nixon would have entertained this kind of talk.

These attempts to criminalize crime are so unfair.

We don’t know the details. There’s speculation that once Trump’s trial is dealt with, they’ll be charged separately, but Smith doesn’t want to risk delays on this one.

That CRA outfit where Clark is currently getting his wingnut welfare sounds like a nice bunch. It includes Ken Cuccinelli, and even the ubiquitous Kash Patel (where’s his indictment?).

Their current activities include maintaining white supremacy in schools, and aiding and abetting genocide of people with gender dysphoria. And they like being called Christian Nationalists.

Every time I look at Clark I write this post - it is a compulsion.
If you look up banality of evil, you will see a picture of Jeff Clark. He is an evil toad.

I am pretty sure the co-conspirators are all going to get their very own indictments. That is why they are co-conspirators.

“resignation of the entire DOJ leadership over Trump’s “direct instructions to utilize the Department of Justice’s law enforcement powers for improper ends.””

Direct instructions. Isn’t that weaponization?

Projection much?

Flynn’s statement on Newsmax was serious enough for the then-Army Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Army to issue a joint release reminding everyone that “there is no role for the U.S. military in determining the outcome of an American election.”

And coincidentally Flynn’s bro Charles was in the room when Army told the DC government and the Capitol police to go pound sand during the J6 insurrection.

I like toads. Clark is a toady. Different species, genus, and family.

Yeah, we need to have this trial right away. We then need for the un-indicted co-conspirators to get their very own indictments. The behavior described in Smith’s indictment of Trump is shockingly un-American.

Next time the FBI wants to march Clark outside in the early AM make sure it’s Frostbite Falls in January.

concurring with @birdford: The co-cons will be indicted or flip. That’s why they’re anonymized.

And the Brothers Flynn are gonna get got, as well.

My thought exactly: he is as distinct and true to type as its original model, Adolf Eichmann.

ETA: Simultaneously ludicrous and terrifying.

Despite all the efforts of the prosecution, everybody could see that this man was not a "monster," but it was difficult indeed not to suspect that he was a clown. And since this suspicion would have been fatal to the entire enterprise [his trial], and was also rather hard to sustain in view of the sufferings he and his like had caused to millions of people, his worst clowneries were hardly noticed and almost never reported (p. 55).
