JD Vance Says the Midterms Will Determine the Future of Birthright Citizenship

Vance Just Wants to Close a Constitutional ‘Loophole’ Vice President JD Vance went on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show last night to chart a path forward for the nativist movement in the U.S. following Tuesday’s too-close-for-comfort Supreme Court ruling on birthright citizenship. It’s what you might call a rich text.  He first described “birthright citizenship,”…

It kind of did go 8-1 against the administration. Even Thomas and Gorsuch would only exclude the children of, basically, tourists from citizenship. Only Alito went full on for Maximum Millerism.

The future of birthright citizenship? I thought the Supreme Court had the last word on that just as it has on everything else.

The foundations of Vance’s politics are as shaky and nonsensical as those of his so-called religious conversion. Hillbilly Algae!

  1. JD Vance should have congress with a couch
  2. The constitutional ‘loophole’ we need to fill is the lack of sufficient enumerated hanging offenses

Only the CF has the last word. Why - because he said so.

NYT Article on who gets to be a parent. I’m sure there are lessons in here about birthright citizenship but I’m not going to speculate on what they are.

Birthrates in much of the developed world are at record lows, but there’s one demographic group that’s exploring new frontiers of fertility: ultrawealthy men.

Republicans are now opposed to pregnant tourists to prevent anchor babies (POC anchor babies) meanwhile Trump has been using his properties for years as a Russian money laundering operation and a Russian anchor baby operation. White babies are AOK, brown babies not so much. P.S. This is still about permanent white Christian conservative domination of the levers of wealth and power.

So many Nazis, so little time before the midterms for them to carry out their final solution.

I’m not sure if anybody knows this, but Vance is a real piece of shit.

Great to hear that JD and his pals are OK with big permanent changes.

Because if Democrats win big in’26 and ‘28, there will be big changes. To try to save democracy!

Oh, I would be more concerned with the massive number of Little Eichmanns in the federal government who are happily making this shit happen and will still be there regardless of midterms.

That’s the scary part. All the more reason to win back the Senate. Seems far off but this court is killing the country. They don’t even understand what getting rid of immigrants would do to the economy. I get it, not their concern but like Trump, it’s still the same wrecking ball.

Get ahead of the future, cut off the final solution. A Democratic Senate can binge on Netflix and ignore Trump as he nominates replacements for Alito and Thomas before his term is up. Then a Democratic president can restore order and a chance at a future.

You gotta love Vance and the Republicans teeing up a huge legislative effort (in theory, I guess) to get behind a theory that only Coach Kavanaugh supports. Talk about backing the dumbest horse.

On the Majority Report yesterday, Matt Lech said basically, let the childbirth tourists keep coming and tax the $h!t out of them since they’re all basically wealthy. I love it. Kinda like a reverse golden visa.

Vance isn’t wrong. The midterms will determine a lot of shit including the Republican anti-immigrant agenda. That is why everybody needs to vote.

Just like they won big in 2024? Democrats won’t win big unless they drop the neoliberalism bullshit and get back to fighting for the working men and women of America.

Ohh! That picture of the Oval Office hurts the eyes. It’s garish. Compare with Obama era.

And why every vote needs to count.

They’re trying to exclude those they don’t want to have a voice. We all have to stand against that.

That’s the battle within the party that’s been going on way too long. Corporate Dems have continually stated the position to progressives in the party, “yes, yes, all legitimate concerns but not now, too important!” Or the classic … “half a loaf …”, which kinda makes sense, but all we get are the crumbs and not the half, which we still have to defend every election. Plus we’ve done our own branding of progressive voices. It’s truly discouraging when too many Democrats see Michael Moore as “far Left.” WTF?
