Heading south
The Committee and their staff deserve great credit in multiple areas but perhaps nowhere more so in this benighted age of show over substance than in their well-scripted performance, a show that truly matched the substance of their subject.
Nothing could be more critical given the percentage of the country that appears to doubt the efficacy and purpose of our democratic governance.
And now for the essential denouement; break a leg fellas!
The GQP “rebuttal” is reportedly being doing by a group of Perpetrators of the Insurrection. Their take ought to be totally wacky, off the wall, and include all of the insanest conspiracy theories.
I do hope the actual J6C comes out with indictments on at least the highest ringleaders, “Individual One” being the top perp. There have been so many people involved who swore oaths to protect and defend the Constitution. I’d really like to see the Committee recommend their expulsion from office (particularly Congress) and ban for life from seeking public office.
That would have the added advantage of decreasing the GQP majority in the House and near-parity in the Senate. At least, until those seats could be filled. And if so, Democrats would be fools to wait until then before slamming through legislation.
You still have time to post your cat photo…
I want this and the next few weeks to be like the final act of the Scottish Play, as directed by Akira Kurosawa…
The Republicans will question why Nancy Pelosi failed to protect the Capitol. Not even worth reading, except as a primer to some of what we can expect from the GOP-led House.
Same old, How come the democrats would not protect the GOP from themselves??? Yea, the party of personal responsibility…SPIT
Congress does not and cannot issue indictments. The referrals don’t mean shit–the department of justice will be interested in any accompanying evidence, but they have near zero interest in the criminal referrals, regarding them as a politically motivated distraction.
I’d like to see the J6 Committee publicly call out the insurrectionists in Congress. Not just in their final report - but today, during the meeting and with the cameras on. These are the same gopers that will soon control the megaphone. Call them out now. If their acts were not criminal then refer them to the ethics committee (for what it’s worth).
Name names.
And I hope the Department of Education will send Jewish space lasers to Ukraine.
Trump, as expected, declined to testify.
The show-off hiding?
That can only mean one thing: guilty.
There have been hints that someone committed perjury. These came after the Committee obtained Secret Service docs to review. Ornato, perhaps?
Summary of the GOP “rebuttal”: “Youse got nothin’ on me, copper.”
Just ate a brownie. Should be ready in half an hour.
What to expect?
My wish is all Media would allow a event to happen before they tell us what is going to happen.
Please let us listen and then tell what you all think was said and let us decide if that is what we heard.
Opinions are like a$$ holes, we all have one.
Why have any hearings about anything then?
They do mean more than shit. The J6 Committee has done a magnificent job both of investigating and informing the public. We all know that the referrals are nothing more than recommendations but their impact on the public will be substantial. And as you said, the DOJ, which has lagged behind in this investigation, will have access to all the evidence and testimony the Committee obtained. This should give go-getter Jack Smith a lot of additional info to work with. And now that Garland doesn’t have to run a massive department the person in charge (Smith) can pay total attention to DJT. Things are now moving rapidly.
