Jan. 6 Panel Pauses Request For Some Trump WH Docs

Diverts staff resources to pursue a lawsuit. And it’s not at all clear that the withholding of pages is anything other than temporary. The reporting on this is bad and incomplete.

Just spitballing, but it could be like if you ordered two dishes at a restaurant, a salmon fillet and a pot roast and the waiter says, “I’m sorry, but the roast will be extra 40 minutes before it’s ready.” Meanwhile, the salmon would be ready in 10 minutes tops, so instead of having everyone wait for the roast to be finished before anyone gets their food, they’re just saying, “Give us what’s ready now and bring out the roast when it’s done.”

So you’re going to order two dinners?

Nice, I like it!

Guarantees plenty of time to drink wine, and maybe even get some leftovers, and still get plenty to eat. You could even get a two desserts if you worked it right!

I was more thinking of “you all” or “y’all” are ordering multiple dishes. Not one person ordering multiple entrees. The committee is ordering several dishes, but the courts may have indicated that 50 pages or so will take longer to adjudicate than the rest, so the committee decided to just take what’s ready now, without waiting for all of it to be ready before getting any of it.

Sorry, but no. No quarter for the insurrectionists.

I know, I’m just hungry right now, waiting for lunchtime.

Those 50 pages, out of how many gazillions they’re looking at, unless they’re the missing 18 minutes, we can wait.

I have to wonder, though, how many of them are actually organized. I am always suspicious these days when a whole bunch of angry white people start showing up all over the country screaming about the same things. I get the whole Tea Party Not-Really-Grassroots vibe when this happens. We and the media fall for it over and over - that this is rightwing anger that just erupted in the population on the grassroots level. I don’t think so - nobody knew a damn thing about Critical Race Theory until they were informed about it.

The same way that thousands of migrants show up at the border at convenient occasions en masse, right on schedule when the right wants the footage.

That has been very curious indeed. I agree.

They get organized on Facebook. And I’m sure that a fair number of the organizers are astroturfers.

“We don’t think that trying to overthrow the U.S. government is something that triggers executive privilege. It’s hard to see that as part of the official duties of a president.”

Unless you’re a gop, of course, then overthrowing the legitimate government of the US is the whole reason you’re in office.
