Jan. 6 Panel Delays Hearings, Citing ‘Inordinate’ Amount Of Depositions

I really don’t have the answer to that but I would bet strongely that there are.

That should be a moot point as this is for the good of the country to see and experience this. Those in the contested seats will be politically affected by this whether they are on the committee or not

Fine by me.

Me too - I can’t see where the problem is. It’s a Democratic committee except for Kinzinger, who is already politically doomed and knows it, and Cheney.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, always very eager for others to fall on their swords for your benefit. But in the real world, that’s not the way to bet.

Again in the real world, running for re-election takes time and money, and generating money takes commitment of time. That’s not a political impact, that’s simple scheduling.

New Republican assertion in lawsuits to contest subpoenas for phone records, documents, testimony …

Remind me - when is it not campaign season?

November 7th through January 3rd, even numbered years.

Yeah I agree about scheduling - I realize that September is into campaign season. I still think it’s possible to schedule both things but I can also understand why they might not want to do that.

I just think it’s made in heaven campaign theater for Democrats so they would have that running already. It will enrage the right but what doesn’t? It could really energize our voters, I think.

And depress theirs. :slightly_smiling_face:

But isn’t that recount and stolen-election-whinging season?

Now, there’s a REAL patriot.

Never, but it has different gears. Memorial Day to Labor Day is when the guts of most gut-voting swing voters are stuffed with whatever they shit out onto the ballot in November. The ad war ratchets up another notch on Labor Day, but that’s really just about motivating the base and trying to move just a tiny slice of the gut-voting morons.

Story is Karl Rove was mistreated by something not human, and that is why he is not.

Yes. You only have one shot at this. Huge stakes. Get it right.

As Emerson said, when you strike at a king you must kill him.

The Senate Watergate hearings were held during the day, but PBS ran them in full every evening, starting at 7:00 pm, Eastern. People couldn’t wait to get home to tune in.

Agreed. Vast majority of voters engage after Labor Day. September is prime time to start
