The process is slow

can’t wait to hear what they say

This could be very interesting. I foresee a whole lot of dissembling, legal maneuvering, and Trumpian threats. All effectively resisted by the Jan. 6 Committee and the courts. Stock up on the popcorn.

These people all need to see the inside of a prison, and not on a fact-finding trip.

IOW: Lock them up!

In at least one of these states there had to be help from a state legislator to let the “alternative” electors into the capitol while the legislature was certifying the Biden electors.
The state capitol was closed to the public, because of COVID.

Good idea to subpoena so many of them, as it increases the chances that one or more of them will be dumb enough to brag on their efforts.

I was a little worried because I was a designated alternate “alternate elector”, but then I remembered I signed with my Nigerian Prince name…so I think I’m cool. Hey, but while I’m here, if you kind folk want to help me with transfer fees on my gagillion dollar fortune….

This is the REAL election fraud. Many of the so-called “electors” were not even the Republican/Trump electors who received votes to become actual electors.

What Guiliani and Trump REALLY wanted was to get state legislatures to officially sanction the fake electors on some supposed constitutional theory that the sitting state legislature could just override the voters if they didn’t like the result, or just based on self-concluded “fraud”. When that effort failed, they just made it up and tried to make it look as good as possible.

There’s been some talk that the fake electors for PA are somewhat less guilty because they made their elector votes conditional on some other party deciding that Trump had actually won their state. I’d say it makes them even more guilty since they nonetheless held themselves out as electors when they knew they weren’t. That is, proof of consciousness of guilt.

This should have been a bigger story back in December 2021 when all this happened basically out in the open. I’m pretty sure Trump green-lit this and all the other schemes. If it could help him reverse the defeat, no matter how silly and obviously fraudulent, he didn’t care. It’s also strong evidence that the Jan 6 mob insurrection was all just part of HIS “plan” – as it were – to deploy maximally anything that might have anything beyond zero chance of success to keep him in power and, perhaps more importantly to Trump himself, raise doubt on the fact he lost and lost huge. I always knew that if Trump lost by 100 million votes, he’d claim that 100 million + 1 votes were fraudulent and he actually won.

There’s way more than fourteen of these clowns. Hit them all.

I was thinking that; there must be one per electoral vote. for each of the seven states.

So now you want to set up a shouting match between these 5-7 states with the bragging rights of “at least our alternate electors were smart enough to try and cover their asses”?

Should we anticipate these people refusing to comply with the subpoenas, or is that just for people who have the blessing of TFG?

Exactly what he did in 2016. He said there were 3M illegal votes for HRC.

The panel, in the subpoenas, said it wants to know more about the scheme, including how the votes were transmitted to Congress and who coordinated the plans.

Would a claim of executive privilege be problematic?

Perhaps the Committee has already spoken to these fake electors. Perhaps these are the ones that are ready to talk, and this is a “friendly” subpoena. If so, it will be helpful in that it will show the others the way. @ClutchCargo
