(1) In January, Thompson said hearings could occur in early April.
(2) More materials appeared, necessitating a delay.
(3) Now it’s June, a two-month delay

You can bet that the GOP has all of its authors currently working on their counter narrative. It would be good if the main stream media did not give it any coverage, but that will never happen.

It will be real interesting to see how far out front the participants-about-to-be-revealed go to deflect from their obvious participation. Kind of like what we saw with the release of the texts.

Sam Ervin has been dead for too long, but he was terrific with Watergate.

Is this really a bad thing… If the midterm candidate is shown to be responsible, you might get some challenges to them running, which could have a negative affect on their election hopes.

I don’t think they knew originally how many texts they were going to get from Meadows that were going to have to be read. Just recently it seems that a lot of material got turned over.

However readable and packed with facts, the committee report won’t be widely read unless the conclusion calls for criminal charges to be brought. We do not need another Mueller report.

I’d rather they were wiped out before they can make their excuses about how they didn’t do it because the evidence is staring people in the faces. This way, they can try and worm their way around after the primary when the voter no longer has a choice.

Not worried about primaries – the wackier Rs the better. This will be in time for the General in November. Just imagine how much information will be plucked for ads that will start in September. And, once again for the 2024 election.

The information has to be solid, indisputable, and easy for all to understand. Patience.

It’s still a self-own in that the committee ended up having zero spies on it to inform the testimony of unfriendly witnesses. Didn’t have to be devie-moo level spies, just loyal republicans who could be counted on to bend the rules from time to time.

I would prefer they get it right rather than rushing and blowing it.

Meadows stopped cooperating back in December, so none of the texts are new to the committee. To me, the delay in starting the hearings suggests that they’re continuing to turn up fruitful sources of information.

And …what about the DOJ, after (and maybe during) these Hearings?

The perps are wondering this :grimacing:

The committee will present a lot of information before the election, I wouldn’t worry about that…they know they have to get stuff out there. The final report might not come out until after the election, but I’d expect all the information that’s important in it to be out before the election.

I’m not as concerned about the primaries…let the Republicans put up awful people in the general election. In fact, the committee investigation might drive some of the awful people into winning their primary, that’s just how things are. I’m hoping they do put up the worst, simply because historically those kinds don’t win in November, the American people have drawn a line at that, at least so far…the Republican party no longer holds popular support, they have to win based on a biased election system that favors them. If the committee really penetrates the American psyche with what happened, then it’s got to take out some of the worst Republicans…if it doesn’t maybe we truly are sunk.

That’s precisely why they’re holding public hearings in primetime. Reporters will read the report front to back. That’s what they did with the Mueller Report. And there won’t be another Mueller Report in the sense that there’s no Bill Barr who’ll redact it in order to make the insurrectionists look good. This is not in any way at all what that was.

nah, they don’t need to. No-one persuadable will pay attention, they’ll just :poop: fling, go “CRT”, “woke” and “the geyz” and carry on as normal, Faux noise will ignore it so the GQP won’t even acknowledge its happening.

See, for example, the $2bn plastic boy funding from bonesaws, which is now a dead issue.

Yep. Monumentally dumb, they would have been able to strangle the investigation, completely, at birth.
