Jan. 6 Committee: Meadows Must Comply This Week

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who serves on the Jan. 6 select committee, on Sunday suggested that the panel plans to take action against former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows this week if he continues to defy the panel’s subpoena.

It is clear Trump’s inner circle is trying to hide an extraordinarily serious conspiracy. They know that if the facts come out some of them are going to prison for a lot longer than is possible with criminal contempt.

This is true; but both outcomes can be mitigated or avoided by cooperating with the investigation.
My guess is the investigation’s calculus is that there are some people who don’t want to serve even the shorter sentence.
