ICE runs social media ad calling on NYPD officers to join masked feds: ‘Join an agency that respects you’
Coming hot off the heels of a contentious mayoral election and seemingly attempting to capitalize on fears some cops may have regarding their treatment under the new Mamdani administration, an ICE account on Instagram is calling on police officers to join their ranks.
“NYPD OFFICERS: Join an agency that respects you, your family, and your commitment to serving in law enforcement,” the post read before adding a recruitment link.

On Palantir’s bullshit
- Fentanyl is not coming from Venezuela
- Fentanyl is a synthetic drug that can be manufactured anywhere.
- The amount of fentanyl that can kill 100,000 people fits in one truck. Probably the average car trunk. Maybe a single suitcase
- Interdiction fails for simple economics. SUPPLY: The wholesale price at transport is a small fraction of the street price. So a smuggler can risk 20 shipments being stopped as long as 1 gets through (*I don’t know the exact price gradient for fentanyl, for cocaine it’s very steep). DEMAND:people who are addicted to opiates are pretty insensitive to price increases (interdiction is supposed to raise the price). The way to cut demand is to cure or ameliorate the addiction and demand generally. Getting middle America addicted to painkillers was the fault of Americans not foreigners willing to meet market demand.
- This military action is clearly illegal. So if Palantir is involved, they better watch their back. This regime is not in power forever.
- With Dick Cheney’s recent demise, it’s useful to remember Palantir was born as a private alternative to Cheney’s Total Information Awareness gambit to use the NSA to spy on every American to see who is a terrorist. Public revulsion shut that down but Palantir quietly picked up the ball. They exist in part to subvert the constitutional limits on creating a police state.

Guns cause roughly 45,000 deaths per year. SCOTUS has stated repeatedly that the Constitution says we have no right^ to prevent those deaths.
Dude is simply, demonstrably wrong.
^Hopefully, one day (probably not soon) we get to limited rights to prevent those deaths.

During the 1989 race, the Democratic nominee, David Dinkins, faced skepticism and anger among Jewish voters. At that time, Schumer stood up to represent Dinkins in the community.
This is all news to me, definitely interesting and I don’t know what to make of it. And we’ve got Guliani in it too. I hope people comment on this.

The Palantir BS from The Weekender
Karp’s diatribe implied that people who opposed the Trump administration’s lawless attacks in Venezuela and around the South American-Caribbean region were actually classist, and did not care about the “working class” people being impacted by the illegal flow of fentanyl into the U.S. Unlike those oppositionists, the billionaire Karp said, Palantir is “on the side of the average American.”
Another thing to keep in mind - those boats were not headed to the US directly. They island hop so this “direct pipeline to Americans” has another layer of garbage.
And don’t forget Blondi’s claim about fentanyl - 258 million American lives!!!
