No, you are correct to use that term. Because, as I said earlier on another thread, its impossible to imagine him having these sort of detailed discussions without revealing US sources and methods. Which quite often, is going to mean revealing intelligence provided to us by the very people he is having these discussions.
The result of that is to severely damage our intelligence capabilities abroad, and most likely involves burning people, both working for us, and working for our allies.
That sort of damage only benefits our enemies. In this particular case, it benefits Russia tremendously.
Mr. Barr caught on the horns of his own making. What the h*** does he know about intelligence and investigating? I am only consoled by the fact that his association with President Trump will enshrine his legacy as a toadie, sycophantic, portly gnome with glasses.
The amazing irony of this is that these supposed law-and-order conservatives are doing exactly what they have railed at liberals for decades for doing - focusing on the process rather than the crime.
This is the police breaking down a door and finding a corpse with the shooter holding a smoking gun, but he gets off because the police didn’t have probable cause to enter the house, or didn’t read him his rights or some such. They aren’t pretending that the crimes didn’t take place. Their whole defense rests on the idea that the first question should never have been asked, that no investigation should ever have happened.

Nah. He’ll demand tariffs on Chef Boy-ar-dee and Spaghetti-Os, and they’ll try to explain and he’ll start roaring and they’ll just go and figure out how to put a tariff on stuff made in Jersey or wherever.
The entire intelligence community and domestic law enforcement were getting reports from several sources of suspicious shenanigans involving Russians and U.S. citizens. And they were supposed to just ignore it all I guess, because Deep State.
So basically, AG Barr is the type of guy that goes around asking friends and relatives if they have slept with his wife or if they know of someone who did.
But just think of the nice vacation spots AG Barr is getting to visit on the public dime (and by dime I mean tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars). Hell, he liked Italy so much he went twice in two months.
I can’t imagine that role will go smooothly after this. It basically says that the gig was a cover for his “real mission” from the WH. That and - well he appears to be a clown.
Yes, they are trying to imply that there was no probable cause, as if that would matter. But the clear fact is that there most definitely WAS probable cause.
Trump in his juvenile understanding about how the law works is thinking, “Gee, if you had never asked about this I’d be OK. So you’re the criminal for having asked about the crime.”
Trump always views “justice” and “fairness” in terms of what benefits him and gives him what he wants. If it benefits Trump, it’s just and fair. If it hurts Trump, it’s unjust and unfair.
Trump announced he was sending Barr on this snipe hunt several months ago. I am not surprised he has reached out to foreign countries in his efforts to hunt down evidence of the deep state in the American intelligence community. Clearly Barr’s boss will be pleased.
