The good news for President Trump is that as long as the Census Bureau cuts off counting by next week, it will have enough time to deliver to him the data he’ll need for his anti-immigrant census power grab, regardless of whether he wins in November.
Developments in the court cases challenging the Trump administration’s census maneuvering have laid bare the white-knuckle approach
I think you mean Dumpf’s henchmen take a “bare-knuckle” approach to perfecting government. We non-dumbf supporters have been on a “white-knuckle” democracy roller coaster ride that is careening towards fascism since man-toddler mussolini took office in 2016.
Why do I get the feeling this isn’t going to go the direction IMPOTUS wants. I think there will be some real tangible repercussions from Ross ignoring the judge. If he does, the House could have the opportunity to impeach Ross, Barr and the Orange Twit. That would certainly screw up the Repugs time line for the SC nomination. Could get interesting!
At this point Ross’s whole effort has become so transparent that the might as well order a census question that reads: “Are you planning on voting for Trump or Biden?”. If “Trump” please drop this in your local mailbox, if “Biden” please drop this into the circular can marked “trash”.
Like most of Trump’s thievery, this is just out in the open.
I’m hoping that RBG’s death doesn’t allow the Republicans on the SC to interfere with this…the judges have it right, the administration is trying to manipulate the Census for Republican ends, and anyone that believes in what the Constitution says knows in their bones that it’s flat wrong. It’s too bad that Republicans have given up on the Constitution, and that they are going to do substantial damage until they are finally forced from power, but at least the system is still working to restrain them, as are the people of the nation.
Presuming we get through this with the nation intact, it will be seen as the period that came closest to seeing the US fail since the Civil War, and all of the blame will fall on the Republican’s quest for absolute power at the expense of democracy.
