It’s a little early, but I am confident that unless Mr. Trump has some medical emergency he will easily win the Republican nomination. The reason is that he is the only ‘authentic’ MAGA candidate. The other proto-MAGA candidates are merely cynics and opportunists. They may dislke libs, Dems, progressives, LGBTQ persons etc., but they lack the seething rage that powers Mr. Trump. Like his base, he really does hate the urban, cosmopolitan, educated elites that have always looked down on him and refused to realize his greatness. Would-be rivals like Sens. Cruz and Hawley and Gov. DeSantis do a fairly convincing act, but the base realizes that an act is all it is. They want the real thing, and that is Mr. Trump.

It was a bad weekend for the Russian forces around Bakhmut. Within the past few days Russian forces lost the land around Bakhmut, which it took the forces ten long months and countless lives to win that land in the first place. There is word that they lost three helicopters and the two jets on Saturday to their own air defense system, plus four or five Russian colonels were either killed or severely wounded. Denis Davydov’s report on YouTube is something we watch every day because he gives a nice summary of the day’s events in Ukraine. Here are his latest views about last Saturday’s events in Russia. Denis was an airline pilot in Ukraine, and he is not fighting because he hurt his shoulder before the invasion. Also I found this other video explaining the losses on the southern portion in the fight for Bakhmut.
I have read stories that if TFG does not win either the primary or the general elections then his base will abandon politics altogether. This moment in our nation’s politics portends good things as long as sanity prevails. If these stories prove true, we could be looking at a number of election boons.
