An Iowa judge has temporarily blocked Iowa’s new six-week abortion ban, leaving the temporary injunction in place “until the court’s final adjudication on the merits in this matter.”
The Repubs claim, actually a lie, that they wanted the states to decide matters of abortion and its legality, seems to create 50 Supreme Courts. That is a recipe for chaos and division and only continues the years long struggle for women’s rights. WTF? “Stari Decisis, We Hardly Knew Ye” (especially since many, if not all of the then SC candidates pledged their fidelity to that doctrine). What am I missing?
Given he isn’t a politician and he doesn’t have a habit of being a public figure, there may not be (m)any photos of him available on the Internet, without trawling his Facebook page. Whereas, Gov. Reynolds hands out press photos all the time. So it’s probably a scarcity issue than a conscious choice.
Regardless of the absurdities that are “deeply rooted in the Nation’s history and traditions” this should have been put to rest when the 14th Amendment was ratified unless there’s some compelling argument that women are not included in the citizens of the United States whose privileges or immunities shall not be abridged.
The way they say it makes it sound like we should be throwing them a parade and thanking them on our knees for some breadcrumbs, I mean SOME constitutional protections.
