Long’s schedule shows him averaging less than three items per week over the past three months.

Well, now we know why Republicans think government employees are layabout do-nothing salary and perq collectors. Projection. Again.

Any bets he will a) shut down the IRS by effing up “modernization” and b) accidentally release the returns of people the felon yells at?

Part of the reason why the public is so apathetic to this public display of do-nothing graft is the god damn legacy media not doing their god damn job.
Another part is the Senate and Congress not looking at their own long-term good and regulating social media.
The last part is, as Josh and others pointed out, Democrat politicians doing nothing concrete. Yes messaging. But Dem pols need to be out there cleaning up yards in Tornado zones. Standing up in town halls and demanding why __ isn’t being taken care of. Pointing out the failure of the Vichy Republicans to pay for basic middle class necessities in favor of tax breaks for billionaires.

And the public “whaddya gonna do about?” fatalism part.

c) use the already-slim budget for audits to investigate political enemies (e.g. Comey & McCabe)

Did this guy have to respond to Elon’s “five things you did last week” email? If so, let’s see his reply.

   for my Senator Wyden and Hunter Walker for bringing some daylight to these grifters.

It is obvious that DOGE and its repercussions have dramatically increased govt inefficiency. Trump and his henchmen (Long, et al.) have grifted the weakened DOGE spots.

Blow this up media and Dems!

Their contempt for the citizens of our nation absolutely stuns me. Maybe we deserve it, but at least put on a reasonable show, people!

TPM obtained and reviewed internal OPM calendars that were provided by a source involved in Long’s confirmation. They show Long had a total of 34 items on his schedule during March, April, and May, a period that included thirteen weeks and 64 working days.

Not bad work if you can get it.

Assuming, that is, that you have no sense of decency (h/t Joseph Welch), honor, or even self respect. When I do a job, it matters to me that I do it well. Apparently for some others, not so much.

I’ve been saying this for years now: If you elect people whose ideology is that government is the problem, not the solution, it should not be surprising when they turn out to suck at governing.

No one is attempting to govern.
We are in aRoad Warrior scenario, in which warlords have sliced up what was once a federal government. Last January was like start to a land race. At the starting gun all the crooks, conmen, grifters, liars, cheaters and fuckups took off to see what they could grab. They were assured in “pre-race meetings” at Mar-a-Taco before January that there would be no oversight or enforcement of laws or rules. Just make sure the grand Taco gets a cut.

The largest economy in the world is now the personal ATM for a legion of crooks.
