Michael Atkinson, the inspector general of the intelligence community, on Sunday accused President Donald Trump of firing him over the impartial way he handled the whistleblower complaint that eventually led to Trump’s impeachment.
“It is hard not to think that the President’s loss of confidence in me derives from my having faithfully discharged my legal obligations as an independent and impartial Inspector General, and from my commitment to continue to do so."
While Atkinson did try his best in the “whistleblower” case, “it is hard not to think that” his career was effectively over the moment he accepted Trump’s nomination for the IG position back in November of 2017.
Q: He can’t be that cheap and tacky, can he?
A: Oh, yes, he can.
Anyway, that article is from before the 2016 election. The moment Trump was elected he put all his assets in a blind trust and has no involvement whatsoever in its management.
Reposted from a thread late last night. O/T. But cathartic.
Folks? You need to click through on this one.
Don’t care if Tommy Lee or Motley Crue aren’t in your wheelhouse.
Tommy went off on Trump with vengeance.
Like a SOTU rebuttal? There should be one of these each day from some celeb who can draw clicks-- just to offset the daily press briefings.
