Intel Officials Say Iran Is Responsible For Emails Aimed At Intimidating Dem Voters | Talking Points Memo

The initial reports of these emails stated that the metadata/headers pointed to an Estonian IP address. That detail has vanished from more recent stories.

I think Estonia fell out of the picture as there’s no Estonian this can be pinned on and the country is a likely routing destination for electronic transmissions to the USA. Due north from Iran and then the shortest transmission path to the America’s.

Though Democratic voters were targeted, Ratcliffe said the spoofed emails were intended to hurt Trump…

Even though that conclusion is absurd on its face, that is the “poor Trump is the real victim here” takeaway that they want us to reach. Every Dem that speaks about this should point out that had Trump spoken out against white supremacy he would not have made himself a target for this effort against him. Trump set himself up for this because he likes people who like him, regardless of how evil they are. Hammer home that he support this type of group, and that he told them to “stand back and stand by” when given the chance to disavow their behavior. Since he has refused to criticize the group that planned to execute Governor Whitmer, at least four (by my count) groups of people or individuals have been arrested for planning harm against public servants who are trying to keep us safe, the most recent of which include the mayor of Tulsa and his family. Trump likes those people, so if someone is using it against him, it is his own fault.

I wouldn’t trust the current U.S. intel community to research competing air fares to Disneyland.

Bullshit.

While this is clearly an Iranian Troll Farm operation using the stolen voter lists to intimidate US voters, Trump’s Butt-Monkey director of National Intelligence did NOT say WHICH Iranians it is.

This is clearly an attempt by the secretive, corrupt Iranian pro-monarchy group (which has paid Rudy Guilliani millions $$$ to lobby the US Government for them) known as: MEK to influence the US election, and to provide cover for Trump to start a war with Iran, so they can then regain power in Iran.
After he loses the election, Trump WILL start a war with Iran, both to distract from his massive, embarrassingly huge loss, and to lay the groundwork for declaring Martial Law so he can remain in power.

Yes. He really is that cynical and terrified of going to prison.

There is going to be violence on election day. Mark it.

Is this something the *rump or his campaign would create to appear that it is from Iran just to throw it against the wall and see if it sticks divergence? Then throw in some ‘armed guards’ to make it look like *rump is protecting the sanctity of our elections.

Naw - he wouldn’t go that detailed. Someone in the *rump campaign might, though.

“You should be confident that your vote counts,” Wray said. “Early, unverified claims to the contrary should be viewed with a healthy dose of skepticism.”

Sure, which is why so many voters have had to wait hours to cast it. No, I don’t think Iran is the problem here as much as GOP stalwarts who demand to cling to power by any method possible.

Vote them all out. And I won’t be confident of anything until the vote is certified to be able to say that all our votes counted. My healthy dose of skepticism is aimed directly at the GOP who cannot win an election without delegitimizing the standard voting process that’s been in places for decades.

“Though Democratic voters were targeted, Ratcliffe said the spoofed emails were intended to hurt Trump in the contest against Democrat Joe Biden, though he did not elaborate on how.”

Nope I wasn’t hearing things,no mention of theses emails hurting Joe Biden.

So, raining indiscriminate hellfire and death upon foreigners bothers you? Sort of puts you in the minority.

Sure Ratcopulater!

Tell us another lie that Iran is a greater threat to the US than Putin.

Can it be that Russia is pulling a misdirect here, and framing Iran?

They are sooooo fucking bad at this:

Leader Schumer says that DNI Ratcliffe shared different information in a classified briefing with senators than he did in the press conference last night. Ratcliffe told senators Iran election influence was not designed to hurt one candidate.https://t.co/hZF437kXT0

The best defense against the Iranian voter-intimidation tactics alleged by Trump Sock Puppet Ratcliffe is to read things carefully, and not be a bloody idiot. The first is controllable; unfortunately the second, for the most part, is not.

Whatever one may believe about the likelihood of an Iranian origin or the specific intent (i.e., to hurt Trump at the polls, as of course Trump would have us believe) of the emails, at least one of the supposed email claims put forth by Ratcliffe is laughable: “the far-right group Proud Boys … warned that “we will come after you” if the recipients didn’t vote for Trump”.

How, precisely and in detail, would a pack of overweight idiots in riot gear know how any individual cast his or her vote, or for whom? How? So, if Trump loses, this little band of nitwit losers is gonna go after all the voters in every district in Pennsylvania, Florida and Arizona where Trump didn’t win a majority?

Please. I’d be much more concerned by the 1-in-2700 chance that Asteroid Bennu may impact the Earth in 2090 or thereabouts.

Fair bet that it’s got nothing to do with Iran, given how conclusive and quick trump’s folks are to declare with full confidence that it is Iran.
