Inspectors General Bash DOJ Handling Of Ukraine Whistleblower’s Complaint | Talking Points Memo

The inspectors generals of agencies across the federal government sent a scathing letter to the Justice Department this week accusing it of undermining the role of whistleblowers and the independence of the inspectors general who handle their complaint.

“They are asking DOJ to withdraw or modify the opinion”

I’m not holding my breath. But it’s good that they did this.

So Barr will shortly open a criminal investigation into the Inspectors Generals at all Federal Agencies who signed on to this. Clearly they are Deep State.

Good on the Inspectors General. Excellent, actually.

Before they get rid of him he’s going to investigate St. Nick.

All pushback is good pushback, and it’s good to see the most recklessly politicized of agencies get thrown in the spotlight.

Good. That one is one shady motherfucker and a real creeper. Watching kids while they sleep and while going about their daily activities? Surprised he wasn’t arrested years ago.

Must be his Epstein connections that kept him out.

The letterhead does say “Integrity and Efficiency”. This bunch likes efficiency for the little people, and integrity is not one of their values.
And please, AGs: what about that criminal probe of the Russia investigation?

This whole issue will end very badly for Barr. Basically, the AG has drawn a line in the sand and said, “if you’re not as crazy as me, you’re the enemy.” Most of the thousands of DOJ employees, including most of those appointed by Trump, aren’t nearly crazy enough to take all of Trump’s conspiracy theories seriously. This line in the sand will inevitably lead to an open revolt against Barr by most of the DOJ. It’s only a matter of time before they’re willing to publically declare that they just can’t take it any more.

The Repubs liked closed door hearings before they hated them. One wonders why? /s

What the F-K does “as generally required by law” mean…What Does It MEEEEEANNNNN?

It’s good to see government employees fighting back against the breaking of norms by the Trump administration. We need more of this, really, because it’s only by people coming forward and testifying about the way the rules are being broken that we will really know what has happened inside the government and what needs to be fixed. What we already know is bad, odds are there are lots of things that have flown under the radar that have crippled government functions.

Great, now Barr has to conjure a new way to say “Go to hell.”

It seems so obvious, but I can’t believe all the people who have already caved. Trump (and now joined with Barr) have instilled so much fear in normal people that it is very disheartening.

If the latest clusterf**k with the Kurds didn’t do it, what will? These government workers have a lot to lose. Something or someone needs to unite and reassure them, but it’s past time to stand up to this monster.

It is amazing to me that compared to his successors Jeff Sessions is a patriot with high ethical standards. I don’t know how Bill Barr could sink any lower in my estimation. The people still working at the Justice Department must be ashamed they can’t find a better more honest job.

There is none lower than Barr. He is by far the most crooked player I have ever seen. He not only breaks laws, he invalidates them.

He makes Mike Corleone look like Wally Cleaver.

Boy, they are going to be busy across the government at this point. Then they will come for the rest of us.

They are asking DOJ to withdraw or modify the opinion, arguing that it stands “to seriously impair whistleblowing.”

Well DUH!
That’s the whole point, now, innit it?
