Rep.-elect George Santos’ “family firm” that supposedly managed $80 million in assets was initially registered at a gynecologist’s office in a Florida office park.

“Tangled web,” indeed.

Thanks, Hunter Walker, for tugging on it for us.

Wow, nice work.
Are we surprised that the fun started in Florida?
McCarthy will carry this albatross. Let’s make it heavier and stinkier.

Did they mine a sitcom for a really, really non-fishy name?

He’s distressed because it seems that he’s been revealed as a con artist.

Earlier this year, Santos told the Daily Beast he left Harbor City in March 2021, the month before the charges were filed. In his comments to the site, Santos indicated he was unaware of any misconduct at the company and said, “I’m as distraught and disturbed as everyone else is.”

I’ve commented elsewhere that the Republican political model of prevarication, pandering, and grift is now an established, lucrative business model and it is little wonder that con artists like Santos who would otherwise have little interest in politics are now attracted to it; e.g,. the Boebert’s wealth has increased to the point their restaurant was abandoned, basically a waste of time and effort in comparison.

Never again are we going to hear a politician say “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country,” as John F Kennedy said in his 1961 Inaugural Address.

Yeah, I know, that makes me old, but the alternative sucks.

Why was florida grift man running in a Long Island, NY congressional district?

Maybe you don’t need to live in the district to represent it? My Congresswoman, Jayapal, did not live in the district when she was elected to represent it. Moved into it sometime after the election.

My only problem with this story is that it came so late in the year that it wasn’t eligible for a Golden Duke. This is the craziest, most tangled story in a long time.

One more thing. Nancy P. is on her way out as Speaker but she didn’t hesitate to take a swipe at the useless incoming presumed Speaker, Kev from Bakersfield.

Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), in what might be her last speech on the House floor as speaker, shot back at the guy she rightfully called a moron, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Friday for his characterization of the omnibus spending bill moments before.

“It was sad to hear the minority leader earlier say that this legislation is the most shameful thing to be seen on the House floor in this Congress,” Pelosi said. “I can’t help but wonder, had he forgotten January 6th?”

She, of course, was referring to the attack on the Capitol by supporters of President Donald Trump on Jan. 6, 2021.

You do need to live in the same (geographic) state. But my question remains, what brought florida man to noo yawk?

Here’s a prediction: If a republican is elected president and the republicans take over the Senate in 2024, Santos will claim that he graduated from Columbia Law School (with honors, of course) and then worked for Jones Day as a corporate attorney. Within minutes, he will be nominated and confirmed to the Supreme Court. All you have to do is put an “R” next to your name and anything is possible.

Behind that blank face is an empty brain pan.

And this leads me to ask the follow up:

Will this make a hill of beans’ worth of a difference? Seriously, will it?

Hopefully some folks will confuse this creep, Santos with that other Florida creep, DeSantis.

They’re stupid, but not that stupid.

I am so confused! I need a chart to order all these LLCs and whatevers into a comprehensible picture. One thing I don’t see is where all this $$$$ is coming from, not the diddly “$1,160 from the campaign of Robert Cornicelli,” the $750,000 that magically appeared. Follow the money.
