It is getting to the point that people need to seriously consider what state to choose to live in. NC GOP apparently is vying for the worst state in the Union prize. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out that competing with Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana raher than California (4th largest economy in the world), is a bad idea. The GOP is lost in the past and are barreling toward toward irrelevance. But hey, they are in charge.

We made a serious mistake when we moved to North Carolina, winding up in Harnett County, with Dave Lewis as our “representative” in the General Disassembly. We are back in the Northern Virginia/ Metro DC area once again. The Republicans in NC of today make the old Dixiecrats look like wild-eyed Woke libtards by comparison. I am surprised that they haven’t simply outlawed the Democrats and arrested them all, sending them to El Salvador or Russia or simply banishing them from the state. It is as bad as some of the Banana Republics or other tinpot dictatorships that have no use for dissent and even less for democracy. It is even worse than the article suggests…

NC is the most gerrymandered state in the country. People didn’t “vote for a strong Republican majority”, Republicans in the NCGA twisted the map to maximize Republican rule of the state government.

Those who say, “we left NC,” are missing out on fighting fascism and oligarchy at a local and state level. There are organizations fighting this in NC right now; join in and help. We need to re-elect NC Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls in 2026, along with Appeals Court judges. We have a chance to flip some seats in the NCGA in dummy-mandered districts. Do we give up on our democracy? NO WAY. Also, if you think you can outrun this corruption…consider that if the NC Supreme Court hadn’t flipped to a grotesquely partisan majority and re-districted (reversing a recent previous decision on fair congressional maps) Hakeem Jeffries would be speaker today.

The TeaParty jackasses who took over the NC General Assembly after being out of power in the Legislature for over 100 years are a bunch of OLD Southern Baptist assholes who have damaged this State beyond recognition.
We used to be known as a progressive State, and in fact, we ARE a progressive State. One would never know that by the stupid moves this bunch of piouspricks have inflicted on us.
I am sorry that people are moving away rather than staying and voting these morons out of office.
If Fauxnooz were somehow jammed, so that every damn TV in this state could not broadcast the bilge that that propaganda outlet spews, the population’s general IQ would immediately rise by several points, and they would cease voting for the people who are making their lives harder every day in every way.
Yep, they gave Asheville’s liberal population the infamous, odious Madison Caldwell for our “representative”. We now have Chuck Edwards , only marginally better, by gerrymandering us into a contorted district that has more rubes who would vote for satan himself over any Democrat. NC was one of the States that had to had Court approval to redistrict because of a history of racial bias, but that was abandoned because the Republicans kept losing elections. They have now gerrymandered a district in Eastern NC that is heavily black to insure that the black vote will be overpowered by today’s Dixicicrat white population. Republicans cheat. That is the bottom line
