Insecure, Indicted Man Checks In With His Friends - TPM – Talking Points Memo

“Chump spent the evening calling his Capitol Hill allies, particularly those in House Republican leadership and those who are using their committee chairmanships to do his bidding.”

I think that is pretty extraordinary. Can anyone else produce examples of when a whole party’s leading members were being puppeteered by an outside persona? Most of their paltry legislative efforts and all the rest of their time and energy and political capital is being spent on creating smokescreens and diversions at HIS beck and call. And the underlying reality of that…they are all criminals and tied up in many of the same crimes and treason that he is.

Oh, and we should probably add that while he was making those calls, he was mirror-practicing which look he would go for in his mugshot. Smile, Scowl, Stern?

Bragg’s Epic Feint ? Or Did Something Change?

Just 24 hours ago, we were expecting no indictment for something like a month.

I was pleased. I was not surprised because I have watched TV, seen movies and read books.

Josh’s formulation that TFG has no friends, only enemies and property, is quite correct. I used to quibble that his children didn’t fall into either camp - but no, they’re clearly property.

Going to be very interesting to see which Republicans helped Trump with his crimes.

In my experience whenever a media outlet brings in John Miller, former crime reporter for NYC’s ABC news affiliate, FBI spokesman and Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence & Counterterrorism of the NYPD, interviewer of Osama bin Laden, and family friend of Frank Costello, the late mob boss, it’s serious. There’s something ominous about the guy and he means business. If I were Trump I’d be loading up on the valium and thorazine. Covfefe’s way too weak for this shit.

Hey, isn’t that George Santos?

Also, what about John McCain? Great day for him.

That’s the ‘amazing’ thing about last night. He went from ‘bring it’ to ‘you can’t do this to me’.

It’s the Trump era though, so maybe I should scratch amazing and find a word akin to the Grand Guignol.

Someone needs to ask Santos: So we’ve decided now that money laundering doesn’t qualify as crime?

Shorter Santos: Wait. What? Lying on your financial disclosure forms can be a crime? Help! Unfair!
