Senate Democrats on Sunday passed sweeping legislation containing provisions to address climate change, health care and taxes, a huge step forward on the party’s agenda after more than a year of halting negotiations.
What a flippin’ relief.
If they can run on this and somehow come up with the house and a couple more senate seats (I know, I know) they can take this momentum and energized constituency into the next term and really build something important here. more climate, Roe, voting rights… the whole ball of wax.
I hope everyone is out there calling their senators a-la Josh Marshall’s repeated suggestion and get them on board for filibuster reform - and not just for Roe codification… that’ll the critical piece to any possibility of saving our asses.
An Epipen? “Darn your daughter!”
Many of these Republicans who blocked the $35 cap on insulin for private insurance plans represent states that have high rates of diabetes aka the diabetes belt. Would they rather pay far more for amputations and all of the medical care they entail?
Any Republican says one peep about tax and spend democrats, shove this chart in their face because the ONLY thing the GOP ever does is increase the deficit.
