Indicted TX AG Insists It’s ‘Ridiculous’ To Accuse Him Of Fishing For Pardon With SCOTUS Lawsuit

If I were the sergeant in charge I would love to GoodCop/BadCop this guy.

Fishing For Pardon?

Fishing? … actively fishing?
Why?
Why?
… when you have already caught & landed your trophy catch … and have it in the ice cooler on the boat

This indictment is five years old. WTF is the hold up?

If Texas had gotten them some Dems that could do some stuff they could of sent Paxton a bill for the amount of time he was working on this and not on state issues.
Since Republicans seem to have no integrity, this is why I keep wanting them to pay. They seem to value money over doing the job that they were elected to do, within the parameters of their job description.

I’m curious why they didn’t sue Arizona also. Wouldn’t the same statistical reasoning-that if voters voted as they did in 2016, Biden could not have won-apply there too?

“I’m suing you for doing what I did,” just doesn’t seem like a sound legal argument.

My state’s (AZ) attorney general sided with the Texas suit and I am deeply insulted that he would choose to invalidate the votes here in Arizona. Our government operates based on who we the people choose, not the courts and sure as hell not a state attorney general. I am gonna email this hack and give him a piece of my mind. After all, he is trying to invalidate his own vote as well as mine and 5 million others here in Arizona and that pisses me off.

“I’ve been working on these issues for the last year.”

No doubt. We all know that the effort to steal the election was long planned.

Operative words are “so far.”

Once he’s out of power (both literally and figuratively) Trump’s influence will fade faster than anyone now imagines.

Paxton has hitched his wagon to Trump’s star—apparently not realizing that it’s a falling star, soon to hit the ground with a resounding thud.

Quite possibly the understatement of the day.

I don’t think it will get that far, but I would like to hear Texas explain why it also engaged in electoral changes it considers unconstitutional.

So I assume he will reject a pardon if one is offered?

Just kidding…

Arizona signed onto an Amicus Brief to the Supreme Court. I just now sent an email saying how I feel about this to my states (arizona) Attorney General as follows…
… … …
Sir,
From your own website:
“All elections shall be free and equal, and no power, civil or military, shall at any time interfere to prevent the free exercise of the right of suffrage.” Ariz. Const. Art. II § 21.

I believe the amicus brief you signed onto to the Supreme Court is invalid and it tries to overturn the legal votes of 5 million Arizona voters. This is wrong and insulting to all of us in Arizona. The Texas suit contravenes Arizona law if what is posted on your website is correct.
Respectfully,
… … …
It’s kinda hard to keep my temper at this point in the proceedings. The Brief invalidates even our Attorney General’s vote. I wonder if he is aware of that fact.

I know that’s the conventional wisdom. I read an article recently somewhere mentioning how populist demagogues like Ross Perot and McCarthy faded quickly after their time in the spotlight was up. But there is nothing conventional about Trump, or the current ability of RWNJ’s to isolate themselves in closed social media bubbles. Trump is still clickbait even for the conventional media.

I think he might succeed in freezing the 2024 GOP primary by teasing a run, or actually announcing one. That keeps him relevant until he’s either convicted of a crime, or drops dead of a heart attack.

Indicted TX AG Insists It’s ‘Ridiculous’ To Accuse Him Of Fishing For Pardon

Seriously, it’s ridiculous. The idea that I’m merely fishing and hadn’t made sure to clinch the deal for a pardon in exchange for bringing this lawsuit is every bit as ridiculous as my lawsuit itself is

Texas just never seems to elect many smart people.

Yoda says: not so great credibility in this one is.

Yeah, a Texas secession is going to be fun when the US Navy blockades the ports and they can’t ship any oil.

What’s that, Texas? You don’t have a navy of your own? C’mon, just convert a few of those shrimp boats and targets… uh, I mean oil tankers. You can do it!

As I have said before, secession is illegal, and the issue was settled definitively in 1865.

There’s an easy way for him to prove this. Categorically proclaim he will not, under any circumstances, accept a pardon.

Waiting…
