Originally published at: Indiana House Approves Gerrymandered Map. Now It’ll Go to Senate After Trump Threats
Indiana’s Republican-controlled state House approved a new gerrymandered congressional map on Friday, as expected. While the new map had widespread support among Republicans in the state House — it passed by a 57-41 vote — the ultimate fate of the map remains unclear. The state Senate convenes on Monday, December 8 to make a decision…
Obviously the Supreme Court will throw this new map out, it’s too close to the election to change anything. Any other decision would be inconsistent with their decision from yesterday.
Surely you jest.
I know you don’t tell jokes and I shouldn’t have called you Shirely.
Consistency? From the the Calvinball 6? Not in this Universe.
“This is Calvinball jurisprudence with a twist,” Jackson wrote. “Calvinball has only one rule: There are no fixed rules. We seem to have two: that one, and this administration always wins.”
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.” ― Marcus Tullius Cicero
Why does everyone pander to this moron, I just don’t get it.
Off topic, except that it’s Supreme Court related.
In its breaking reporting of the Supreme Court reviewing at Trump’s request the meaning of the 14th amendment’s clause about birthright citizenship the NYT made a serious error. It said that birthright citizenship is rare in developed countries. In fact birthright citizenship is common in New World nations (Canada, US, Mexico, Central and South America, Caribbean nations). That right is intimately related to these nations throwing off their colonial masters and abolishing slavery.
My guess is that the DOJ sent a fax to the NYT containing this misinformation, and the editor did not think to do a simple Internet query.
NOT ON THE EVE OF AN ELECTION THEY DON’T, SO SAYETH THE Alito B0T!
