I can only imagine how ugly this is going to get. With 1.3B people involved here, I can only hope that India has robust public health protocols and great health care.

I don’t get it either. Four times our population and 9,000 citizens reported infected.

China isn’t much better with about 82,000 cases reported and 3,000 deaths.

Combined they have a third of the world’s population - if my math is right. Something’s missing.

According to ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research), 217,554 samples from 202,551 individuals have been tested as of 13 April and 9,341 individuals have been confirmed positive. Link to PDF

200,000 tests for 1.3 billion people could be why their numbers are so low.
