Incoming GOP Rep. George Santos Isn’t Who He Claims To Be

Morning Memo comes to you today from the frigid shore of Lake Mendota, where one of the kids graduated from UW this weekend.

First. Santa Claus is coming to town this week. J6 committee giving out presents too. Proud Boy trial starting this week. Hopefully Rhodes will get some company in prison.

How did none of that about Santos not come out before the election? Is that one of the NY House seats we lost in redistricting?

The MAL case has quieted down because there are no leaks. Smith is running a tight ship…as it should be.

Elmer will have company. Wait, you meant other J6 insurrectionists- them too.

GOP to Take Down Jan. 6 Committee With Their Own Report – RedState

However, the Committee isn’t going to be alone in issuing a report. The Republicans are going to issue their report, from their committee, made up in part of the Republican appointees who Pelosi refused to accept, Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH). They will rebut the Democratic report and focus on real points about the failures of security as opposed to the purely political effort to get Trump in which the Democrats are engaged. They’re calling out the “official” report for the Democratic propaganda it is.

So, WHERE WAS DEM OPPO RESEARCH? Oh, and the New York Times is so awful at political coverage, they do no reporting on candidates in their own back yard.

So Santos is a liar, how does that make him any different than any other R?

This guy, Santos! I read this expose and I’m reeling. I keep underestimating the madness gripping these Republicans. What loathsome rubes!

I hope the Republicans offer specifics. General Flynn sure didn’t have anything to say in rebuttal to information that he called for an insurrection, and he called back to D.C. (for January 6) some other high-ranking insurrection participants from abroad to help try to support the impending coup. With regard to that information (and I presume, his oath,) the General invokes the 5th Amendment.

Riddle me that one, Gym Jordan.

Is there no legal recourse whatsoever for what Santos did? Can’t they at least give him the Michael Grimm treatment? Maybe not because then you had Boehner in office who’s practically Abe Lincoln compared to McCarthy.

The New York Times is out with an incredible expose on an incoming GOP member of Congress from Long Island who does not at all appear to be who he says he is.

I’m going to assume that all the investigative work done by various people uncovering Santos’ sketchy, falsified background could have been done BEFORE the election, by the Democratic Party, in support of their candidate Robert Zimmerman. Why wasn’t it?

His committed his crimes in a different country? He sounds like Walker- fake charity, fake resume and real crimes.

Santos is in a world of poop now.

My first thought too – why is this only coming out now? (Is the byline Habermann??)

I guess Maggie Haberman was too busy sucking up to TFG to do some research on some guy on Lon-Guyland running for Congress . . .

The same Banks and Jordan who were involved in planning J6? I’m certain they will wax poetic on their innocence because the evil, Socialist (this is a Socialist week, not a Communist week yes?) Dems misspelled their names or something equally technical.

Hopefully the Dems will include an appendix of all the people and texts exchanged with Mark Meadows.
