Friday is the 56th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid, and the third-ranking Republican in the House of Representatives, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), weighed in with a doozy of a take.
This simply shows you how Republican politicians treat their supporters - like dumb, ignorant chattel for them to use for power and wealth. And it appears to work - for now. There will be much denial, but with the latest news on Trump, the entire party is now shifting to survival mode. Too late…
It’s really pretty simple. Socialism, like communism, is bad. If voters support a program by large margins, the program is not bad. Therefore, Medicare and Medicaid can’t be bad and can’t be socialistic either.
Rep. Liz Cheney seems smart enough that she would never have made that ridiculous of a statement, but of course, the GOP needed a more pliable woman in leadership. They couldn’t stand someone who might actually think (and think for herself at that!).
