Ask yourself…is it possible this assembly can do a good job? Look at past administrations that played this game in a much lighter fashion. Bush Jr. and Trump 1. Both miserable failures.

The new, improved border wall never proved much of a challenge either. Almost immediately ever-ingenious Mexicans breached it by constructing ladders by wedging pieces of tires between the bars. Others just showed up with a Sawzall. Some American women simply scaled it – in 18 seconds!
By far the worst effects of the wall is on wildlife.

If the NYT had done this a year ago, six months ago, three months ago, we might have had a different outcome. Doing it now is pretty fucking pointless.

Go to France and you’ll see a ton of elegant beautiful women. One of my favorite things to do when there is get a glass of wine of coffee, sit outside on the street and watch the women bustling down the sidewalks. Waist cut jackets that FIT. Cool looking boots, almost none have tattoos and their upright gait…sans a fucking phone in their hands. Amongst the many other reasons to go to France.

The beach near where @revjim lives. English is fairly commonly understood but Spanish is usual. American dollars are normal there. Good food & friendly folks too. All in all if one remembers to behave as a guest it’s a grand place to be. I spent 3 yrs in Chiapas State in Southern Mexico so I got some of that “feeling”.

With all the vitriol aimed at the NYT here at TPM, some of it well-deserved, we should at least acknowledge that the NYT editorial board did endorse Harris, and called Trump a threat to democracy in that endorsement.
