Thanks. I had forgotten that. I thought it had been Newt because I remember seeing him posting from The Vatican and various places in Italy.
The story is awful, but a comment left on the article is priceless.
A friend sent me a screen shot -
They look like they have already been embalmed; literally and figuratively.
I think Newt Gingrich (Contract on America) and Tom Delay (Redmap) were the first to really show their hands. The rest of the Repubs werenât quite ready to be that crass at that time, although Iâm sure MoscowMitch was taking notes. It was under Bush the Lesser that they really started to move with the Kochs getting ALEC and the Tea Party going once we had Obama in office. Itâs been straight downhill from there.
She was the ambassador to the Vatican under TFG. He was the Speaker of the House in the 90âs.
And coincidentally, Desmond Tutu passed away today.
Someone mentioned apartheid.
Desmond Tutu RIP
I heard him speak so many times during the anti apartheid rallies and protests; freedom for Mandala marches in the late eighties in Toronto. A winner of the Nobel Peace Price for good reasons. He helped make change not only in South Africa but also re-educated many of us; showed us a reality that is also part of our lives here.
He will be remembered.
The DoJ is suing Texas. The Supreme Court said in Rucho it has no jurisdiction over political gerrymandering, and after Shelby County and Brnovich there is little left of the VRA. But have no fear, Manchin and Sinema will agree to a filibuster carve out and pass a new and improved voting rights act any day now.
I remember when that happened. I went to my job that morning where I had a coworker who would buy the NY Post, I always had the NY Daily News. I saw the pardon the pun, headline and opened the paper to see the article. They had a picture of the box with the separated head sitting in the back of the coroners station wagon.
The bar itself in Queens is long gone, I donât know what replaced it.

A cannabis dispensary. More 2022.
Speaking of sewer gas, when you act like an asshole, sometimes you are treated like an asshole.
So many people who think that freedom of speech means other people shouldnât be allowed to use their freedom of speech to comment.

I donât know what replaced it.
A head shop?
Ooops, tigersharktoo beat me to it.
Oh, look, letâs shift the tax burden to the poor!
From the Kenosha Snooze editorial board:
Wisconsinâs income tax rate is the ninth highest in the country, while the sales tax is one of the lowest. So perhaps some tax shifting is in order.
Scott Walker is behind it, they say! Great. Except he couldnât get it passed when the GQP controlled it all.
Wisconsinâs Main Street Alliance and Wisconsin Budget Project panned the proposal saying it would âshift the responsibility for paying taxes away from the rich and powerful and onto the back so people with low and moderate incomes.â
But hey, we should still have that debate!
He got to use his freedom of speech. Now he is facing consequences for how he used it. He was rude to the President - free speech, dude, but not without repercussions when you use it badly.

My destiny calls and I go,
And the wild winds of fortune
Will carry me onward,

âA Head Shopâ
You win the innertubes
(Actually Head Shops sold everything BUT weed.
Bongs, pipes, papers, lighters, insence etc.
They got hurt by dispensaries and the survivors have shifted to being vape shops. Also pushing Kratom for instance.)
They look at least 500 years old with the accumulated wealth of ages and countless victims.
