Illinois GOP Answers To Outcry After ‘Jihad Squad’ Graphic

Illinois Republicans are trying to quash outrage after a graphic on the Illinois Republican County Chairmen’s Association Facebook page posted this weekend depicted four congresswomen of color in an action movie-style poster topped with the title “The Jihad Squad.”

Oh, but we’re not racists, we just can’t help but act like it.

How about someone makes a graphic of Trump, Barr, McConnell, and Pence in KKK outfits?

If they’re not racists, why is it that their first unfiltered, kneejerk reactions are always a racist message???

I think that if they don’t like all white there are a set of brown and black outfits available.

How much more evidence is needed before it is officially determined that the GOP has rotted to the core. It’s time for all of them to go.

“My intense disagreement with the socialist policies and anti-Semitic language of these four congresswoman has absolutely nothing to do with their race or religion,” he said. “I urge everyone who opposes them to keep the rhetoric focused on policy and ideology.”

I’d vote for AOC to play Cameron Diaz in the behind the scenes documentary “The Making of Jihad Squad” featuring Cameron Diaz playing AOC.

Sadly, this ass-pect of donnie’s personality has the admiration of his base. In most cases they are attracted to this because they are the same or wish they were. Remorse takes the ability to care and empathize, of which all trumps are incapable.

I wonder what Trump does when he does something simple, like spill a Coke on their pants, or slam their hand in a door. Does he start to apologize, and then catch himself? Does he apologize for simple slights or offenses, or are even those transgressions off limits from being acknowledged and forgiveness asked? Is everyone that crosses paths with him just an impediment to be mowed over, like grass on the lawn?

The way they get away with this “anti-Semitic” label is driving me crazy. Also, repeatedly, there’s implicit in theses attacks the idea that criticism of Israel is anti-American.

The Trib’s article is worth a read but here are a couple:

  1. The non-apology apology to anyone offended. How about a direct apology to the Congresswomen? The apology includes naming the person who posted and anyone who approved it, what you have done to punish them, what you will do to atone to the Congresswomen, and what you will do to make sure it doesn’t happen again. I know not to hold my breath waiting but it is worth putting the criteria for a real apology out there.

  2. It was a process error, not a “yeah, we really are just a bunch of Illinois Nazis” error.
On Facebook, Shaw [head of the group] called the posting “unauthorized.” Then he explained how the group has a “multistage, approval process for all social media posts on any of its social media properties.” That process, he said, is being “reevaluated.”

And now we know why they chose “squad.” This was, I’m sure, not part of the original plan or anything.

My bet is Donnie finds a way to quote the term in an hour or two.
