Yep, exactly right.
I have hope for Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Also, my question is: If all of these voting “reforms” go into effect next year, won’t we have a massive amount of lawsuits? It seems to me it will be weeks before anyone is seated. And who will pay for them all?
I hope you’re right.
" Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) tossed out the idea of a tax on electric vehicles at a recent press conference."
Most absurdist thing I think I’ve heard them propose in literally a few years…at least as far as I can recall.
You can rest assured that they will propose it and pass it as soon as they get a chance. we of course want to incentivize people using EVs or hybrids and move towards cleaner travel, but they’ll have some sort of doublethink cooked up for why we desperately need to make things “fair” by taxing those people who chose to buy EVs and hybrids. Probably some nonsense about the “added usage and strain they place on our grids and power plants.”
I want to know why no one calls out Manchin and Sinema (and McConnell, too) over their flat out inaccurate, 100% wrong beliefs on the filibuster. No, the Senate was NOT designed that way. No, the Founding Fathers did not put it into place. It needs to be drilled into them the way you do when you’re telling a two-year old they can’t do something. “No, no, no, never, never, never!”
For quite a few years now traitor senators doing absolutely nothing for Americans has not affected their ability to get elected. “We’ll use this against them in the midterms.” Right. We’re not dealing with standard humans any more. I think Biden gets that, but I’ll guess we’ll see.
This feels like three Dimensional Chess. How many moves?
“many competing entities and interests, including politics, diplomacy and warfare. To describe an individual as “playing three-dimensional chess” implies a higher-order understanding and mastery of the system beyond the comprehension of their peers or ordinary observers, who are inferred to be “playing” regular chess”
After four years, are we actually dealing with adults?
It’s almost, as if, Joe Manchin and the 290,510 people who voted for him in 2018 have more power than the 81,282,916 people who voted for Biden.
I think that you’re a kind soul and maybe you just need a hug.
Exhibit A
Wait a minute, getting to rake it in via the 15% GLOBAL MINIMUM tax rate, worldwide for corporate taxable assets will provide a huge atomic increase of funding for the USGov’t’s programs. I suspect this will be very good. But I’ll keep an open mind.
Yeah. The amount of money needed just to keep shit out of our waterways is a couple billion dollars - per city! Almost all cities built before 1970 need to do serious remedial work on their sewer system.
That’s before we get to roads, rail, broadband, weatherizing senior housing , and child care ( which is essential fucking infrastructure)
Mark Kelly seems to have his head on straight - and is riding higher in the polls. I can’t figure out what the hell sinews is thinking
Are u ok?
N u can, as long as it’s understood that calling those who disagree with u (either partially or entirely) , ‘centrists’, is odd.
Freedom of speech is awesome and a figurative notion of yelling for say ice cream, is also ok.
However, lack of patience is what doomed two administrations.
It waa for different reasons, but still…
What irks me is that u outed yourself as an anarchist, because of a general statement.
Is that really a great idea?
Get back to me.
No, no. The proper way to do infrastructure is to do the roads now and then tear them up over the next 5 years fixing the pipes underneath piecemeal. That’s Tradition!
It’s Friday afternoon. The sun is shining and pizza has been ordered.
I will not allow you to reduce me to tears
I am with you but it is getting tiresome. Manchin always likes to get his face on national TV, be sought after etc. Read today that Former AZ Attorney General Grant Woods, a long time supporter of Sinema’s is telling her to vote with her party or “get out”.
Happened twice on the block I live. Laff?
There is a good chance that is what will happen.
