After months of fighting to liberate Idahoans from what they see as despotic COVID-19 restrictions, GOP lawmakers have a plan: declare every Idahoan an essential worker.
A Republican governor is trying to blunt the impact of the virus on his state with modest restrictions. He is attempting to keep Idahoans safe and more importantly out of the ICUâs His Republicans colleagues rail about freedom. Sigh. There are days when I want to stand up and scream, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!
Simple proposal to fix vaccine supply chains and overcrowding of hospitals:
If you subscribe to the notions that this is all a hoax and a joke and you donât wear a fucking mask, we should offer you neither the vaccine nor any treatment.
This will free up hospital space for the folks who catch it in spite of taking proper precautions and allow quicker vaccination of the same.
GOP lawmakers have refused to back down. One member introduced articles of impeachment against Little, while the House Republican caucus accused Little of making âinflammatoryâ remarks.
Idaho has beautiful scenery and places to visit. Iâve been there a bunch hiking camping etc. The Bitterroots and Sawtooth ranges, Hellâs Canyon, Lake Coeur dâAlene, and once in your life you simply must visit the Idaho Potato Museum. The collection of mashers and peelers is quite unique.
âThis isnât like Gov. Little was setting out to try to expand his power through this,â she said. âWe kind of ended up in this situation with the pandemic that forced it on him and other governors.
It would help if this political scientist got it right.
Gov. Little didnât expand anything, he (and most other state governments) have long had these powers to fight public health emergencies. He is no more guilty of being a tyrant than a firefighter is guilty of water damage from spraying your house that was on fire.
The only thing Gov. Little (and the rest of the GOP) is responsible for is not pushing back against the seditionist crazies in their own party until now.
