Lawlessness and lies to win re-election and avoid jail time,

Just a week (a lifetime) of the Orange Menace’s America…
I surely expected nothing less.
But,in better news, Biden and the DNC had better viewership, even on day 4:
> Across their respective four nights of programming, the Democratic convention averaged more than 20 million total viewers per night in the 10 p.m. spotlight viewing hour, compared with 17.4 million total viewers for the GOP convention.
Also, if Trump has gotten any “bump”, it has yet to show up. Last I checked 538.com, Biden’s lead over Trump was 9.1% (50.9 to 41.8)
I suspect that most people have absolutely made up their minds about who to vote for. And that events from here on in will not be favorable for Trump to win over the 7% or so who do not yet register a choice.
There is certainly no shortage of material for Democratic campaign ads this fall. My personal favorite is when Trump said early on that the pandemic would be over in about two weeks. One hopes the Democrats will play footage of that over and over again.
And interesting piece of data buried in the 538 numbers is that the spread between Biden and Trump among “likely or registered voters” today is just on 10.1 percent, but the spread among “all adults” is actually 15 percent. Now factor in the level of anger and commitment to vote which Donnie has inspired.
This level of anger to me translates to “much higher turnout than predicted by current ‘likely voter’ models”, and there are a lot of anti-Trump folks in that pool to draw on.
Hang in there, folks. Just a few more weeks…
