Hyper-mega nitpick alert
Iceland is one of those few places in the world that doesn’t actually use a surname system. Their “last names” are literally just old school titles “son/daughter of [parent].” Guðni Jóhannesson is literally “Guoni son of Jóhannes” and if he has any sons, they likely call themselves “[name] Guðnison.” People are listed alphabetically by first name on registers, and the polite address of Icelanders is actually by using their first name.
(Incidentally, for nonbinary people, Iceland just added a new option this year. Instead of people having to be [parentname]-son or [parentname]-dottir, they can be [parentname]-bur with no gender connotation. I hope a chill just went up Mike Pence’s spine as I typed that.)

Iceland hates Trump, shop keepers have anti Trump signs and so forth. I’m surprised Pence was so poorly informed to actually go.
By the way, put Iceland on your places to go list. Food and beer costs a fortune, crazy, but do it. BYOB from duty free.

Fun trivia tidbit: Iceland’s restrictions on weapons are stringent enough that CCP Games had to get specially licensed to give their employees swords for their 10-year anniversary. And the swords have to remain in CCP’s offices. When Sveinn Kjarval (aka CCP Guard) left the company earlier this year, he needed to get a special dispensation to take his sword with him (because he wasn’t leaving Iceland).

I actually am in Iceland for 9 days starting next week (mostly northeast, although a couple days in Reykjavik). Looking forward to it for a whole variety of reasons but this adds yet another reason to enjoy being there.
