Steve Bannon, who has been leading the charge on this, said that ICE agents at airports could function as a “test run” for ICE activity at polling places.

“We can use this as a test run, as a test case, to really perfect ICE’s involvement in the 2026 midterms,” he said.

“They’re trained to, wait for it, check IDs,” he added. “That’s why it’s perfect training for the fall of 2026.

What concerns me with this particular statement is that if ICE is allowed to check my registration against the my county’s voter registration list is will they have the ability to see if I’m registered as a R or D? Then can they get into the county’s voter registration to see how I’ve voted in the past?

The Justice Department conceded in a January court filing that in March 2025, two members of the DOGE team who were working at the Social Security Administration were in contact with an “advocacy group” (an election-denying organization, perhaps?) with the goal of finding “evidence of voter fraud and to overturn election results in certain States.”

And how can an employee(s) from SSA get my voter data?

“Perhaps the most absurd narrative peddled from the left, including twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, is that the SAVE Act will somehow disenfranchise married women, or anyone else who has changed his or her name, from voting in federal elections,” Roy said.

“Nothing could be further from the truth. The SAVE Act secures all Americans’ votes by ensuring non-citizens do not vote in federal elections, effectively canceling out the votes of citizens, including married women,” he added.

Except that’s exactly what the bill reads. The GQP is successfully gas-lighting some Americans into believing this is no big deal.

The Senate is about to put this in place. Watch for it.

Republicans take every inch of power they can by whatever means possible. What the GOP needs the most are reasonable boundaries because they do not by themselves act like a responsible political party for a democratic country.

I hope enough voters finally catch onto that point.

(1) It hurts women, and (2) women vote generally more towards Democrats, so it hurts Democrats. That is always the intent. The MAGA zombie-crowd is so far gone that they would repeal womens suffrage altogether if they could stay in power with that. They do not value electoral democracy or legitimacy at all.

SO are the poll workers, and they have up to now always been non-intimidating.
