There will be arrests outside (maybe inside) polling places in 2026. Minorities not obviously remotely caucasian in lineage will logically fear harassment and arrest when trying to vote. Arresting and detaining citizens has helped Trump, because it’s become common knowledge being born in Dubuque is of no help once DHS/BP have trained their sights on you. Poor school kids make mad dashes from their bus stops, seeking cover or shelter from the Gestapo. No one is safe. And it will all play out at the polls.

Ukrainians regard the Geneva talks as a potential pathway to a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky, at which the most irreconcilable issues could be addressed directly. In practice, such a meeting is highly unlikely to take place.
The Russian side will insist on extracting concessions in advance, combining overtly political and forceful rhetoric with a demonstrative readiness to engage in discussions on technical details. There is no contradiction in this approach; it is a deliberate negotiating tactic.
Nevertheless, the process makes clear what Kyiv is counting on and how it envisages a possible diplomatic trajectory.

O/T: A good weekend in the Springs.
