I agree completely. But Wilson worked on firing African Americans from government jobs they already had, and refused to give the vote to good, clean, white Christian women. It wasn’t " I wouldn’t share a table with those people" racism, and “I wouldn’t want their simple and childike minds harmed by getting into politics” it was active disdain and violent suppression and removal.
I thought he was one of the good presidents until I saw a doc on WWI from American Experience on PBS - and AMEX bends over backwards to be slightly to the right of center.
