How Trump Flipped Anti-Semitism On Its Head To Deflect His Racist Tweets | Talking Points Memo

When President Donald Trump on Sunday told several Democratic women of color to “go back” to “the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came,” critics railed against the racist attack, a variation on the same “go back to your country” line used for generations against non-white people.

Donald Trump is a racist. He has no choice. He’s locked in.

He could not NOT be a racist if he even wanted to…

Trump does what Trump always does – turn it around and try to inculpate his detractors.
Really, it’s always something: if it were Jesus speaking, Drumpf’d question why he couldn’t save himself from the cross.
A real pharisee, this one.

“… “go back to your country” line used for generations against non-white people…”

When I was a kid it was used against white, native born Americans.

In West Side Story days of NYC, it was used against the “PRs”. On the radios, the cops call them “Peter Rabbits” to this day. Get a scanner and listen in N Essex Co NJ to see what I mean.

Nah.

The entire “They hate Israel” is just a dog-whistle to the Evangelicals to instruct them to ignore everything else Trump is about to say.

and the willfully-ignorant sheep do as their Dark Master tells them, dutifully claiming it was “not racist” because “reasons”.

Rinse. Repeat.

Much like whenever I hear people denigrating the memory of Nathan Bedford Forrest, I always think that there’s antisemitism at work here.

Because we all know how much the KKK loved the Jews…oh, wait.

The House debates a resolution condemning President Trump’s comments about four minority members of Congress telling them to “go back” to the countries they came from. During the debate, Republicans ask that Speaker Pelosi’s “words be taken down.” It’s Doug Collins

I’m going to take issue with the headline: Saying that Trump “Flipped Anti-Semitism On Its Head” gives him way too much credit as some sort of agile debater. Trump coughed up some dishonest nonsense he heard on Fox & Friends or Twitter regarding Omar’s remarks. That’s pretty much the extent of it.

What else can you expect from a president who needs to write “al caida” phonetically in order to remind himself to bring it up in a live rant.

In an interview on MSNBC, Anti-Defamation League President Jonathan Greenblatt condemned Trump’s “cynical” use of “Jews as a shield.” “Speaking for many people in the American Jewish community, President Trump doesn’t speak for me when he says those things, and I want nothing to do with it,” he said.

Unfortunately, T rumpp’s audience wasn’t in this country. He was speaking to Natty Yahoo, pledging his support to Israel and the continuation of everlasting chaos and conflict in the ME.

When I hear the anti-Semitic language they use, when I hear the hatred they have for Israel and the love they have for enemies like al Qaeda, I do not believe this is good for the Democrat Party,”

“When I hear the anti-Semitic language they use, when I hear the hatred they have for Israel and the love they have for enemies like al Qaeda, I do not believe this is good for the Democrat Party,” Trump said Monday, wildly misrepresenting Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) condemnations of the terrorist group.

That’s ALCAIDA TO YOU TRUMP, YA BIG FUCKING UNEDUCATED DOOFUS. This asshole can’t even spell. Every other word he reads has to be spelled out phonetically. Why does anyone listen to this practically illiterate asshole?

Has Miller convinced Trump he needs a race riot to scare whites into voting for him in 2020?
Did Barr just help that along?

Call me crazy, but this could be a long hot summer if people don’t recognize they are being played and fall for it.

You mean the people of whom Raphael said: “If you’re a faithful person, if you believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, emerged from the grave three days later and gives eternal life, and you’re supporting Donald Trump, I think there’s something fundamentally wrong with you.”

Those evangelicals? The “Praise the Lord and Pass the Snakes” Death Cult types?

Why is this even a story when he is going to do or say something racist five minutes from now?

In 1981 Lee Atwater, the famed Republican political operative, explained to an interviewer how his party had learned to exploit racial antagonism using dog whistles. “You start out in 1954 by saying ‘Nigger, nigger, nigger.’” But by the late 1960s, “that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, ‘forced busing,’ ‘states’ rights,’ and all that stuff, and you’re getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.”

Well, the dog whistle days are over. Republicans are pretty much back to saying “Nigger, nigger, nigger.”
