Viktor Orban, the authoritarian leader of Hungary, targeted opposition nonprofits, independent universities and other opponents of the regime in exactly the same manner as Trump is doing in the U.S. The Trump regime is following the same playbook.
Expect more intense harassment of political opponents. The Trump regime will cheat, lie and steal to maintain power.

True of course, and needing to be emphasized. But I think the first characteristic of this lawfare is its maliciousness. The main point to highlight is not that they’re wrong. That’s a given. It’s that they’re evil. They are directly and energetically attacking constitutional democracy in an effort to make political opposition illegal.

I just find it so puzzling that this country, that can’t pass a school without shooting it up and has spent great energy toppling other leaders is so goddamn fucking afraid of this criminal.
Weak lands breed weak men, and boy howdy, is this country ever so fucking weak.
If Merrick Garland wasn’t such a timid, weak, and fearful man Trump would have been charged with insurrection the day he was sworn in in March, 2021.
While not lavishly corrupt like Pam Bondi or as blatantly partisan as Bill Barr, in his own meek way Merrick Garland may have irreparably harmed our country.
