How The House Managers Will Show That Trump Provoked On The Mob On The Capitol | Talking Points Memo

Seems like the mob at this January 6th rally was attended much better than Trump’s inauguration.

One of the managers said the permit for that rally explicitly did not allow a march to the Capitol until Trump personally got involved. So that’s interesting.

So…he financed it, he was in on the planning of it and affected the permits for it.

The same manager, Stacey Plaskett, said when the Trump supporters tried to run the Biden truck off the road he said they’d done nothing wrong, and the FBI should be investigating antifa, not them. They really are building the case here.

I never heard this reported, but a friend in RI was driving from MA back to RI to witness a similar thing. She thought there were about 100 tRump vehicles and things were really slowed down for miles. First exit that came up and the Biden bus pulled off. Wonder how many other places that happened.

I’m so glad to hear that. I had forgotten all about the bus until it came up today. I’m really glad everybody didn’t forget.

I’m pretty sure they could demonstrate through DNA evidence that he provided the shit they smeared on the walls and he’ll still be acquitted.

And the majority of Americans will see it for the injustice it is.

Absolutely left me shaking. So proud that Joe Neguse is my Congressman. 'Watching on PBS and during the break Judy Woodruff interviewed one of the most craven Trump creeps I’ve ever heard: Elizabeth Chryst. She certainly would say anything to support him. If she weren’t old and not so fast on her feet she would have been there for sure.

I find that watching this gets me so upset that I start thinking about cleaning my guns.
That’s a bad sign for me.
I’m supposed to be able to get angry without having such thoughts.
But after 4+ years of Trumpshit, I’ve had more than enough for my fill.
The son of a bitch needs to receive real Justice.
If the Senate won’t do its damn job, then who will?
Why should a DOJ piloted by a good AG perform their duty when politicians refuse to perform theirs?

I own no guns, probably never will, never even fired one in my life, but watching these videos inspired certain revenge scenarios in my head that of course I would never seriously consider but which were almost pavlovian. I bet a lot of folks had a similar reaction. It’s hard to see such behavior and not have thoughts of violent revenge. The mark of a civilized person is that they don’t take it any further. Relax, it’ll take some time but this will be dealt with.

And when caught they whine like children and blame Trump for telling them to do it.

He also still contends that the Central Park 5 were guilty. Not hard to connect those dots, without a Sharpie.

Yes, even after DNA evidence has cleared them all.

Do any of them have a sense of guilt anymore? Or are they all beyond that?

I worked for the same company she did at the time and gave blood to help save her, as did many of my coworkers.

Trump is evil.

I’ve wondered this since the Biden/Harris bus was surrounded in Texas; what would happen if Trump started to use his paramilitary fanatics as true brownshirts and threatened the friends and family of legislators (and actually hurt a few)? Well, I guess the Michigan militia operation might’ve been an inept beginning to that sort of thing but I sometimes think we dodged a bullet when the guy that realized that the American political system was a fertile field for an authoritarian racist was so bad at everything but demagoguery.

I was thinking more shoot them in the middle of 5th Ave, but this works too.

There is no evidence, none whatever, that Trump has ever shown personal courage inn his entire life. His whole history has consisted of talking others into taking risks that serve his interests, and then denying everything if they fail. He has absolutely no conscience anyway, and that certainly is the case in these kinds of situations.
