And just as quickly as they arrive in the Senate they will be tossed in the trash.

When the legislation arrives in the U.S. Senate, it should receive “The Pelosi Fate,” i.e. torn up in front of the cameras and the world.

I’ll keep saying it. Fuck these fucking fucks.

Proper use of fuck as a verb, adjective, and noun in the same short sentence.

ETA: Very nice. I like it.

An attempt by the Senate Democratic majority to kill a House-passed Holman rule provision when it considers legislation sent over from the House would need 60 votes to move ahead. That would require votes from almost a dozen Republican members, which may not be possible to get.

While true, the Senate instead could simply replace the whole bill (without Holman rule provisions) with only 51 votes, provided it can meet reconciliation rules.

Also, there is a good case that the Holman Rule (if applied in the way that Republicans are discussing) would be an unconstitutional bill of attainder. Robert’s may not be willing to go along with diminishing the power’s of the Executive branch that are implied by this rule.

Imagine businessmen trying to plan with fools playing with laws. Out today, in tomorrow, out the next day.

Just another good example of how Republicans maliciously rig everything then blame the democrats for everything that goes wrong.

I feel it adds just the right amount of “fuck this shit” to the conversation.

I certainly hope you are right.

But I do worry about “a good case” that the rule is unconstitutional. That would almost certainly mean going through the Supreme Court, and I don’t trust the conservative majority to decide anything on a rational non-partisan basis.

Only this time their malicious motives make clear that the GQPers want to destroy the United States of America in a single attack. They should all be jailed for Seditious Conspiracy.

The only saving grace here is that if the Senate can’t block this bullshit, Biden will most certainly veto it.

[Holman] allows provisions for altering or abolishing programs to be offered to and made a part of appropriation bills

Anything that makes it easier for House GOP to openly exhibit their bad intentions and carelessness is just more rope. Provided, of course, that what they do is reported
