Yes, cats are cute, etc., but I’m just not that fond of them. Sorry!

“However, we do not seek to judge people by the color of their skin, but rather, the content of their character.” Chip Roy.

And the content of Mr. Roy’s and Mr. Donald’s characters are horrible.

Abusing the words of great people is as old as ignorance and hate – witness what the Nazis did to Nietzsche – but I’m not sure “enable” is the right term for it.

White-nativists like Chip Roy will do what they do as they have done for centuries regardless, it’s mainly a matter of what they can get away with.

Chip is the kind of a-hole who will point out that Black unemployment was at it’s lowest in 1860.

“Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.” ― Jonathan Swift

Not exactly pertaining to this topic, but the issue of Biden’s Classified Documents storage has come up again…and falsehood and lying would seem to be germane to both topics

Why we can’t have nice things:

So long as there are stoopids in such large numbers, we will be saddled with the shit they stir up, even when they lose. It’s ultimately about cultural resentment, racism, and feeling left behind. Society and the world moves forward, but they refuse to budge, content with their fucking Friday night football, plentiful guns, F-150’s, cheap beer, Sunday buffet and Jeebus. And they resent the rest of us for moving forward and making them feel inferior, which they are and know they are. They’re just exercising what they delusionally still believe is their cultural right as society’s superior beings to complain about no longer having their asses kissed by us. When in reality they’re inferior and always have been, know it, and hate it, and lash out for it. That’s what fuels all this anger, hatred and resentment, and clinging to ogres like Trump as their Great White Hope. They can’t stand waking up to the reality that they’re all a bunch of inbred white morons who have nothing to contribute to the world. So they lash out.

It’s all tied together, their goal of regaining total power and keeping it, and the various means of doing so. It’s like an Ira Levin novel only it’s actually happening and no actual cloning or Satanic rituals are involved.

Folks if you could listen to some of the callers we deal with every day where I work and hear them rant and scream about “them lazy colored folks sitting on their butts getting welfare checks” while the callers are on Social Security and especially those on Supplemental Security Income…

The only people I’ve ever heard make such accusations are people who sit on their butts all day collecting government benefits.

White people that is.

Considering the topic at hand, it’s fortuitous WaPo has an article this morning on AG Garland’s emphasis on and elevation of civil rights within the Justice Department.

This reminds me of the article I just read about how the new inflation act has brought drug prices down dramatically for Medicare recipients - particularly those with diabetes type 2. How many people would continue to support the GOP if a pharmacist said, nope, can’t give you your discounted drugs because you voted for Republicans who don’t support it? Yeah, I know … all of them.

What’s the skinny on this Classified Documents business? Josh must think it’s overblown…

Josh isn’t the only one who thinks it’s “overblown”.

Well Comer went on a rant this morning.

And I’m actually amazed that Tapper went there on CNN…

And they love to use a certain word that starts with “N” over and over again in their rants.

I don’t think Josh considers it overblown, more like there just isn’t much to discuss until we know more about what happened.

The most important detail is whether Biden knew anything about it and ordered the documents retained, or if all of this was done by staffers without his knowledge. It’s a non-story if the target of the investigation is his staff and Biden wasn’t involved, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. And may not be for months.
