They didn’t know where they were going. Some called their families in tears. Others sent confusing messages to their attorneys, saying that ICE agents had told them that they were headed back home — to Venezuela.  But only hours later, the Trump administration would deport these detainees to El Salvador.  It capped what TPM has identified…

The MAGA thugs at DOJ told Judge Boasberg to take his requests for further information and stuff them. So Josh Kovensky of TPM has stepped up and supplied a ton of relevant, and deeply incriminating, information. Thanks, and kudos.

So to review: The Federal government perpetrated a coordinated effort to deprive people of their constitutional right to due process.

IANAL, but it seems to me that would constitute a criminal conspiracy. But it doesn’t matter, because the Supreme Court ruled that Trump can do whatever the fuck he wants to.

When, or perhaps if ever, the criminal trials of the officials and underlings involved in these illegal roundups and disappearances come up, once again we will hear the Nuremberg defense, “I was only following orders.”

Trump, of course, will get away with all of it.

The tattoo thing is so over the top. If tattoos are the TdA mark we’re going to lose 3/4 of the servers and bartenders in the country. Probably 90% in Portland.

Well done, Josh K on the timeline. Though hard to give this a thumbs up as it’s despicable.

So there is clearly some competent. organized evil bastard in the Orange House along with all the freaks and chaos monkeys - is it Steven Miller? Is he the Doug Neidermeyer in this situation?

The Most Transparent Administration in History is a scary, dark, opaque place of deliberate deceit, lies, and subterfuge, methinks, with a soupçon of Yoovian torture.

The timeliness of this reporting reminds me of fearless reporting by AC Thompson, published as ”Torture Taxi” It’s available at Amazon and other locations.

Seconded here—thank you, Josh K.!! :+1::saluting_face:

Authorities swept up others in February. Per one affidavit, a Venezuelan man in New York City was arrested by ICE personnel at his USCIS interview on Feb. 28 and asked about TdA. (emphasis added)

And his response was…? Presumably, something along the lines of, “I don’t know jack shit (or the Venezuelan equivalent) about TdA.” :thinking::face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I’ll repeat what’s going to be a common comment from me, that IF these people are as terrible as is being ALLEGED, it should be simple to prosecute/deport them via normal—legal—processes.
